Happy Halloween! It is time to mull some cider and pull out our sexy Auston Matthews costume. We are so happy that the Seattle Kraken are playing together just for the opportunity to pick ghost boy. We are also bummed that the Carolina Hurricanes game is too early to take players from. Seth Jarvis is getting his debut later this morning and the 2020 first rounder gets his first crack against one of the worst teams in the league. We will be focusing on the New York Rangers the most with a sprinkling from other lines that we are interested in.

Here’s a spooky lineup For DFS Hockey 10/31/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterM. Zibanejad$7,500

WingB. Tanev$3,900
DefenseD. Hamilton$7,400
Defense
GoalieI. Shesterkin$7,500
Utility

Igor Shesterkin is the clear number one in New York and the matchup against Seattle should favor him. We would have gone after Freddie Andersen in Carolina but Shesterkin is a fantastic addition. He is sporting a sub 2.00 GAA which is hard to do in this league, especially as shots seem to be going up across the board.

Brandon Tanev is a player we highlighted last week and we did it more for his NHL photo than anything else. He always looks like he just saw a ghost and so we have to take him on All Hallows Eve. He did reward us last time with two goals and has six already on the season. For less than $4,000? Easy choice.

Mika Zibanejad is taking his shots this year and they are just not going in. His lackluster point totals are not really a cause for concern and it is time for him to bust it open. He has a career 12% shooting percentage and is currently at 4%. That is not sustainable. He is playing well and will be rewarded soon.

We are going big today with some of these picks and it will feel like we are stretching the budget but all the gems that help us do this are behind the paywall. Dougie Hamilton is always beast mode and deserves to be the most expensive defenseman you can take. He is averaging just over three shots per game and is getting all the power play time he desires.

Here Is What You Get If You Sign Up For $99 For Six Months
• A slate of sub $5000 players that will help you afford the big guns
• A juicy matchup opportunity that could result in a lot of goals for both sides
• It’s Sunday so that means NFL all day with some other sports tossed in. Go check out Joe’s Main Slate and spread the love.

The Montreal Canadiens vs the Anaheim Ducks may end up being a high scoring affair. We have a nice stack for you that has all the upside you are looking for. The Canadiens second line is their most dangerous right now as the league figures out how to neutralize Suzuki and Caufield. Christian Dvorak and Josh Andersen are seasoned veterans that are clicking right now. They are the best players on the team and face a weak Ducks team that should let in more than they would like.

Alexis Lafreniere is another stack with Zibby. Points are a modest half per game, but they are mostly goals. When he scores he scores big. It is very important for the Rangers to get as many shots on Grubauer as possible. He is a wonderful goalie but is not behind the Avalanche anymore. The Rangers need to put their foot on the gas and keep it there.

We are not taking Jamie Drysdale necessarily because we think he will go off tonight. The poor kid is getting tossed into the fire and is already playing 23 minutes a night. He is very talented but the Ducks run the risk of rushing his development. At least he gets to face the Montreal Canadiens who will be on their third string goalie. Now is the time.

Fill your goblets with cider, don your masks and get ready for some supernatural hockey. Carve out a Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) follow and put it on your calendar that we are one week from Daylight Savings Time. Have a goodnight you sons of witches.
