It would be really nice if we could make some picks from some of these early games but they start too soon for us to get this article out. We are going pretty heavy on the Chicago Blackhawks and Minnesota Wild today as they are the juiciest matchups of the afternoon. A dash of the Islanders and a splash of the Golden Knights should get you a nice ticket for your Sunday chill time. We are also really into the NFL picks today, so if you are looking for a break from hockey, do not miss out on all the other action we have ready for you!
Here’s a windy lineup For DFS Hockey 10/24/21 (using DraftKings Values)
Just because a Vezina caliber goalie came into your organization and took your starting job, does not mean you are not a good goalie. Kevin Lankinen came out of nowhere last year and backstopped the Blackhawks to more wins than most were expecting them to get. Chicago has yet to find a win this season and the Red Wings might be the team that gets them their first W.
You will be almost certain to save some money at the Center position today. There are not a ton of high end options but the middle of the pack has some interesting value. We are deciding between Joel Eriksson Ek and Kirby Dach. Eriksson Ek came up huge with a hat trick and overtime winner for Minnesota. He is trying to become their top center and is making a better case every game. Kirby Dach is a few years younger but definitely has a higher ceiling. He is currently playing with Alex Debrincat who is another solid option to consider at wing.
Now that we mention it, you should definitely consider a stack withAlex Debrincat and Dach orKirill Kaprizov and Ek. Both teams have good matchups today as we mentioned with the Haws facing the Red Wings and then also with the Wild facing the Predators. We lean towards the first pair based on goalie, but the second pair based on more consistent fire power overall. We will not know what our own decision is until we finalize our picks today.
Moritz Seider is in the big boy leagues now and you cannot tell that he just got here. He is quickly making a name for himself and is unlikely to ever set foot on AHL ice again. He is being featured on the powerplay and has been quietly notching points. Keep an eye on him, everyone is going to know who he is soon enough.
Now what do you get if you sign up now?
• A bigger, badder defenseman than Seider
• A more expensive center worth owning
• The best six months of your life with the best fantasy advice the internet has to offer. Just $99!
Alex Pietrangelo is still making our roster even though there has been some delay in him getting going. It is too easy to point at the injuries on the Golden Knights as to why he is not getting many points but Pietrangelo has the ability to make it happen by himself. He will find it and when he does he will go off.
It would be nice if Mat Barzal had a bit more consistency to his game. One day he puts up a goal and nine shots the next just a single shot on the scoresheet. We are looking for a middle of the road performance from him as the Islanders handily took care of the Coyotes and look to take more points from the Western Conference on this crazy road trip to start the season.
As usual we have a few extra wingers for you to consider. Lucas Raymond is a new name for the Red Wings that, like Seider, is going to be wowing people sooner rather than later. Matt Duchene is currently on the top line in Nashville and while he is not always our favorite pick, that is a great value at just $3,300. If you go full Blackhawk then pick up Brandon Hagel who is usually stapled to Kirby Dach. They have fantastic energy together and will be making some magic tonight.
Just a chill Sunday over here. Scrolling through Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) and watching some early games while waiting for our picks to play. Check out our NFL picks for some great looks and players to avoid due to injury.
