The Buffalo Sabres were the first team in the NHL to start the season 2-0. Just like we all predicted. In all seriousness we do have our eyes on their next game and will likely have some fantastic deals for you. Today we have a matchup that could go any which way and not just because of the talent level of the players playing. There is a potential goalie issue that will sway some of our thinking. Catch us behind the break to discuss.

Here’s a thick lineup For DFS Hockey 10/18/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Center
CenterB. Schenn$4,800
Wing
Wing ~$5,000

DefenseTrouba/Parayko~$4,400
Defense
GoalieC. Hart$8,000
Utility

In Philadelphia, there is no goalie controversy and we are confident that Carter Hart will have a bounce back season. He let in four goals in his first game back, but he also saw almost 40 shots. That was not entirely on him. Seattle is definitely proving naysayers wrong quickly, but we are still not entirely sold yet. The Flyers will be playing strong for the Hayes family this year as their teammate Kevin heals from abdominal surgery and they all mourn the loss of his brother Jimmy, a former NHLer, over the summer. RIP Broadway.

Over in St. Louis, Brayden Schenn is quietly one of the more productive forwards in the league. He may not be elite, but he is very consistently very above average. Great price for this stud who could put up 70 points in 82 games this year.

On defense we think a good pair of guys to choose from would be Jacob Trouba or Colton Parayko. Both are veteran blueliners who absorb pucks for a living. We always wish Trouba would find his scoring touch again but it does not seem to be the role he is given with all the other talent on the Rangers. Parayko is much like Schenn in the quietly productive category. Set him and forget him. It tends to work out.

Now what do you get if you sign up now?
• A comparison between two of the bigger ticket defensemen
• A mid priced pair of wingers who are entering their prime
• Notes on the situation surrounding starting goalie that could shift everything

If Michael Hutchinson starts in net for the Leafs tonight then all your chips should move towards Rangers players. The one we would start with is Adam Fox on defense. There are lofty expectations for last year’s Norris winner. He has already stepped up and gotten a point per game. We expect that to continue. Keep your eye on Panarin and Zibanejad should Toronto not start Campbell.

The other big defenseman to have at the ready will be Morgan Rielly. He comes at a steep discount and is top power play on a team that is welcoming back one of the best goal scorers in the league.

Joel Farabee and Jonas Donskoi have been seeing their stock rise quickly in the last couple years. That is what we would expect from Farabee who is only 22, but Donskoi has taken a longer route and is finally starting to shine. He was drafted by the Seattle Kraken and his time on ice is quickly increasing.

As a throw-in for you, early subscriber, a couple more bargains for you to consider. Dillon Dube is getting top six minutes and Lawson Crouse will be a diamond in the rough for Arizona this year.

One of the best things to say about Monday is that it precedes Taco Tuesday. Just kidding, we enjoy Mondays as well, as long as there is hockey on. And there is! Come give us a follow on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX), like those tweets and get your taco meat marinated for tomorrow.
