NHL DFS Picks For October 15, 2021

Bo Horvat

All the Sickos in Ottawa heave a collective sigh of relief as Brady Tkachuk signs a long-awaited deal for seven years and over eight million dollars per. We would expect them to put a C on his chest when he plays his first home game. Even without him, the Senators put up a big win over the Toronto Maple Leafs chasing Petr Mrazek from goal. These boys are going to surprise some people this year.

Here’s a foundational lineup For DFS Hockey 10/15/21 (using DraftKings Values)

The Chicago Blackhawks and Vancouver Canucks are among the other teams that may end up higher in the standings than you would expect. The choice between Jonathan Toews and Bo Horvat is a pretty fun one. Toews missed all of last season due to unclear circumstances but likely Covid related. The Vancouver Canucks were one of the teams hit hardest by the virus and Horvat’s first year as captain was largely out of his control. Both are going to have huge years.

Too many pundits have Dougie Hamilton as taking a step back after moving from Carolina to New Jersey. Do not buy it. He is a dominant force and the young Devils are full of energy and skill. Dougie is good for a few shots at least and when he gets on the power play with any of their 21-year-old centers he is going to dummy the competition.

Another player that we were looking forward to last year but suffered from some of the Canucks fate is Thatcher Demko.  The Philadelphia Flyers and Carter Hart are looking for a bounce-back year themselves. Big action across the board.

Now, what do you get if you sign up now?

• This secret player is cheaper but has a higher potential than our last two

• Beefcake defensemen

• Two storylines you will want to pay attention to for season-long success

—— Paywall ——

We want to help beef up your defence. It is up to you which way you want it to happen. The more expensive Quinn Hughes is a point-producing machine. Connor Murphy is there for taking shots and making blocks. Murphy did score a goal in their first game so he is not just a big body.

If you were looking for a mid-tier winger this is where the Flyers are likely to help you out. Claude Giroux is a grizzled veteran who has had a prolific career. Travis Konecny is a young gun that needs to kick start his. There will be a point this season where Konecney’s value keeps ahead of his cost. We will let you know when that bonanza begins.

One last player to keep an eye on and keep your budget tidy is Philipp Kurashev. He is stackable with Toews and is likely to get some power-play time as well. He is going to be a name we are pulling out of our hat going forward as well. Get ready, we have a whole lot more for you.

The weekend is here and it is time to binge-watch hockey. We will keep you updated via our Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) account. Take it easy.
