Welcome to the league Seattle Kraken! Get used to the Vegas Golden Knights getting suspect calls. Either way you put on a heck of a comeback and established yourselves as a dangerous team. We cannot wait til you host Vegas in Seattle. Please put on a heck of a show. On the east coast, we saw a Jeff Carter and Danton Heinen led Pittsburgh Penguin team win over the reigning Stanley Cup Champions. Wait, what? Welcome to the NHL folks, this is going to be a wild ride. Buckle up.

The comments coming from Connor McDavid are that he wants to be a bigger scoring threat than he has been in the past. He is already the best player in the world and he has plans to be even better. We are, honestly, so lucky to be able to witness his career in real time. Put him at the top of your roster pretty much every game until further notice. We may start skipping on him right away so you get some more info on other centers that are worth considering, but he needs to be owned.
We cannot wait to see who scores more points this season. Artemi Panarin or Patrick Kane? They are both prolific point machines. Both the New York Rangers and the Chicago Blackhawks have the ability to score and their power plays especially are going to be lethal. Pick your favorite team or player because these guys are very equally matched right now.
Our utility guy today is priced the same as our cheap guy yesterday. Just a little pumping of our own tires; we picked Anthony Cirelli and he played into both of Tampa’s goals. He scored one and got an assist. Good start to the season. Today’s guy is a winger and not a center but he will be in a primo position to start off strong.
Now what do you get if you sign up now?
• A second line center who will get top line minutes tonight
• This offensively minded defenseman will be getting another trophy this year
• An entire year of fantasy advice for $199 which includes all the major sports!
We did not help you out much with defense yesterday so we are starting with it today. Cale Makarwon the Calder Trophy last year as the best rookie. Adam Fox won the Norris Trophy as the best defenseman in the league. We might argue that Makar is overall the better player and when their careers are over he may have more hardware in his trophy case. On the other hand, Fox is playing a sneaky good team. Today we are leaning towards Fox since Nathan MacKinnon is out due to Covid protocol. Give the Avalanche a couple games to get up to speed.
In perfectly hypocritical fashion the next choice up is between Nazem Kadri and Nick Suzuki. Kadri is going to be taking MacKinnons spot and will be between Mikko Rantanen and Gabriel Landeskog and we are leaning towards him. Suzuki just signed a monster deal and is going to be worth every penny. We are just a little hesitant to go after Montreal right away after playing so long into the summer. When Suzuki and Caulfield get going expect them here on the regular.
The Toronto Maple Leafs snatched up a couple pieces from the Boston Bruins in the offseason acquiring Ondrej Kase and Nick Ritchie. Ritchie will be up on the top line and also top power play. Watching him on the power play is an absolute joy. He just parks his dump truck in front of the goaltender and makes defenders’ lives miserable while the more skilled guys move the puck around to find an opening. Occasionally, he gets a goal out of this and is worth rostering while he gets those juicy minutes.
