NHL DFS Picks For November 29, 2021

Mark Scheifle DFS
VANCOUVER, BC - FEBRUARY 19: Winnipeg Jets center Mark Scheifele (55) and goaltender Laurent Brossoit (30) celebrate after their NHL game against the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena on February 19, 2021 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. (Photo by Derek Cain/Icon Sportswire)

Don’t look now but the Seattle Kraken have managed to beat a few of the top teams in the league and are getting a little momentum going. Their record is not all that great but their goalies are healthy and we might have to take a couple of them. The more obvious game to watch and take players from is the Winnipeg Jets v Arizona Coyotes tilt. It probably will not be much of a contest so we are getting right to business with the men from Manitoba.

Here’s a true north lineup For DFS Hockey 11/29/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterM. Scheifele$6,400

DefensePionk/Schmidt~$5,400
Defense
GoalieC. Hellebuyck$8,200
Utility

Connor Hellebuyck does not appear poised to win the Vezina this year even with what was supposed to be an improved defense in front of him. That does not mean he has played poorly, just that the team in front of him is making things harder than they need to be. He still gets great goal support and is playing against the team with one of the worst goal scoring squads in the league.

The more obvious choice at center here would be Pierre Luc-Dubois who is finally starting to gel with the Jets. We still like Mark Scheifele though. It would be great if Nik Ehlers made it up to the top line but Blake Wheeler has to turn it on one of these days, right?

Flip a coin and choose between Neal Pionk and Nate Schmidt. They have an interesting relationship where Nate Schmidt gets better five on five time while Pionk gets the power play nod. Based on your own risk assessment, it boils down to Schmidt having the higher floor but Pionk has the higher ceiling.

Kyle Connor scores goals. What more do we need to tell you?

Alex Wennberg should slot nicely into your backup center role today. You could pay a couple hundred more and get Yanni Gourde but we are feeling good about the Kraken’s second line today. Before his six game skid he had 11 points in 15 games. A very modest pace. The game against Buffalo should yield some juicy matchups and Wennberg will be there to capitalize.

The riskiest pick of the day goes to our second d-man choice. Rasmus Andersson or Rasmus Dahlin? The Rasmusses were both hyped as offensive defenseman but they have not been chipping in exactly as much as one would hope. Dahlin has the better goalie matchup if Tristan Jarry plays, but the Flames as a whole have been scoring a lot more. Tough choice.

Speaking of cheddar, we need to hit up Costco for a another mega-block. Speaking of mega-blocks here is a group of guys who can make Swiss Cheese out of their competition. Connor Garland had a great night against the Boston Bruins having a goal waved off for offsides but coming back later and scoring another just because he can. Andrew Mangiapane is a daily contender for best value, even if he is cooling off a little as predicted. Jared McCann was going to make our freebies today until we went with the moose theme. He has been crushing it on Seattle’s top line.

Mason Appleton is probably frustrating dynasty owners as he has only produced one point in ten games since being taken by Seattle in the expansion draft. He then had an injury and is finally back. Normally he would go on the third line but he is going to be on the second line with our boy Wennberg. We believe in you Apples. Make it happen.
