NHL DFS Picks For November 21, 2021

Valeri Nichushkin of Colorado

After there were 12 games yesterday we figured today would be a slightly smaller load. Nope. Seven more games today with a ton of teams on back to backs. We will not be using that as a tiebreaker for anything since everyone will be a little tired today. The big games that we are singling out for mismatches are the LA Kings vs the Arizona Coyotes, the Vancouver Canucks vs the Chicago Blackhawks and the Washington Capitals against the Seattle Kraken. Spoiler alert we did not put any Capitals on our list today but that was because we didn’t even get that far before our list was done. Plenty of good to look at over there especially with how much money we will have left over for you to make the big decisions.

Here’s a regal lineup For DFS Hockey 11/21/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterA. Kopitar$7,300

WingV. Arvidsson$5,800

GoalieJ. Quick$8,200

Jonathan Quick’s contract has been worth every penny. The last couple years have been tough with injuries but Quick has found his game again and there is an argument to be made that he is in fact the starter now. Cal Petersen is having some struggles and let up 5 goals yesterday. It will be all Quick today against the Arizona Coyotes who finally got a second win last night.

Anze Kopitar has a plum assignment against the desert dogs. He will be happy to have a solid winger return as well, which we will get to next. He is at a flat point per game pace right now with a pretty even split between goals and assists. Kopitar is the best kind of high level consistent even at 34 years old.

Viktor Arvidsson came back from Covid protocols to play against the Capitals last night and slotted into the top line with Kopitar. He may not have scored, but he is getting his feet underneath him, saw his ice time go up to top line minutes and will be featured on the power play. Great deal for a great player.

We wish Charlie McAvoy would have gotten some fantasy points for dummying Joel Farabee last night. Farabee never stood a chance, took a few shots to the head and then got wrenched to the ice by McAvoy. Charlie is elite and for unknown reasons his price is slipping a little. Take that savings and run!

We have a couple more options for you in the defense department. We like Matt Grzlyck andOliver Ekman-Larsson. Either could be your second d-man but you could also pop McAvoy out and put in both these guys for some big savings. Grizz plays a smart, tough game and gets rewarded for it pretty frequently. He does not have the same upside as Charlie but he is being given good minutes. OEL is slowly climbing the ranks in Vancouver and is an awesome backup for Quinn Hughes. It is probably weird for him being on the second power play unit, but he is still getting those man advantage minutes.

We would be remiss not to point out an epic goalie matchup today that you should look at for other options over Quick. Jeremy Swayman will face Daniel Vladar in tonight’s Bruins vs Flames game. Both were Bruins prospects for a long time. Vladar was traded in the offseason and will be hungry against the team that let him go. We will be live in person for this one and are beyond stoked.

It should be no secret at this point that Andrew Mangiapane is a must add. Two goals in each of his last two games and somehow he is still under $5,000. The matchup against the B’s is no easy one, but he is on fire right now and will be hard to slow down.

Two more wingers to consider for your tickets today and we will be ready to wrap it up. We finally get to mention that we really like Vancouver’s chances tonight. The Blackhawks got stomped by the Oilers last night and the Canucks should be ready to pounce. Conor Garland and Vasily Podkolzinare both on the second line and we really like where the chemistry is going. All of that should leave you with more than enough cash for a baller in your utility spot. Especially if you take our last guy of the day.

We have talked about it before but it is important to not completely forget about teams even if they are not doing well. Travis Boyd is a super cheap center that is between Lawson Crouse and Clayton Keller, the two best Arizona Coyotes who will be the core guys for a long time. Boyd has seen his play time go up and is a very low risk pick.

So much for being on vacation. Good thing we love this gig. It’s not like we wouldn’t be following all the things anyway. Do the following thing on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) and have a nice easy Sunday as one of the quietest weeks of the year begins.
