NHL DFS Picks For May 6, 2021

Mitch Marner DFS
CALGARY, AB - JANUARY 26: Toronto Maple Leafs Right Wing Mitchell Marner (16) skates during the third period of an NHL game where the Calgary Flames hosted the Toronto Maple Leafs on January 26, 2021, at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, AB. (Photo by Brett Holmes/Icon Sportswire)

Amidst all the hullabaloo that Tom Wilson started there was a more important story that was unfolding and we are glad that some good came of this game. T.J. Oshie’s father passed away a couple days ago and this was his first game playing with him gone. Coach as they called him, did everything he could to give T.J. all the opportunities possible to play hockey and succeed. Oshie responded with a hat trick and an emotional end to an emotional night. That was a gutsy performance and we hope it gets a little more attention as everything else dies down.

The Nashville Predators and Dallas Stars both lost last night making the race for the last spot in the Central Division even tighter, although still leaning in the Preds favor. An unlikely scenario but not mathematically impossible is that the L.A. Kings could take the final spot in the West from the St. Louis Blues. The regular season still has some surprises for us and we are here for it.

Here’s a feisty lineup For DFS Hockey 5/6/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterC. McDavid$9,100
Center
WingM. Marner$8,200
Wing
Wing
DefenseT. Barrie$5,800
Defense
GoalieA Nedeljkovic$8,100
Utility $6,100

Connor McDavidWe now return you to your regularly scheduled high praise of McDavid and the focus on him hitting 100 points in an incredibly shortened season. Matthews is all but guaranteed to hit 40 goals and run away with the Rocket Richard trophy but McDavid will be taking home the Art Ross and the Hart. We do not know anyone who is rooting against this incredible milestone so throw him in your lineup, sit back, and enjoy.

Mitch MarnerAt least we are able to afford this guy. We pump his tires all the time and you can tell by his price that he is worth it. The likelihood is that he gets a couple assists tonight to help Matthews hit 40, even though he is secretly a goal scorer himself. Toronto knows Montreal will show up to play and we should see playoff Marner emerging.

Tyson BarrieThe Oilers defense does not get enough credit overall since they do not have any household names yet. Nurse is getting there and Barrie is still a ways away but he is having a great season. He has been getting a power play point every other game and will be instrumental in helping McDavid do the thing.

Alex Nedeljkovic. It is getting easier and easier to type this guy’s name with every time we play him. Carolina is the number one team in the NHL right now with more points than Vegas. This team is scary and still making some small adjustments. We expect coach Rod the Bod to get his contract worked out before the end of the regular season so everyone is comfortable. Get on board now.

Now what do you get if you sign up for $99 now

  • A center with a shiny new sniper on his wing
  • A top D prospect getting top power play time
  • A returning utility player that makes an already great team terrifying

Here’s a feisty lineup For DFS Hockey 5/6/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterC. McDavid$9,100
CenterP. Danault$3,100
WingM. Marner$8,200
WingBeauvillier$3,800
WingA. Ruotsalainen$2,800
DefenseT. Barrie$5,800
DefenseR. Sandin$3,000
GoalieNedeljkovic$8,100
UtilityE. Malkin$6,100

Phillip Danault – C just got an upgrade on his wing and his name is Cole Caufield. With Drouin and Gallagher out he has not had the best weapons but he now has a pure sniper to play with. This is a potential playoff clincher and an opportunity to send a message to Toronto that they are here to play. This will be worth watching.

Anthony Beauvillier – W has snuck his way up onto the first line and has seen his minutes rise to over 17 per game. He has points in his last few matches and is a bright spot on a faltering Islanders team. They have some work to do if they want to make it out of the first round and Beau will be a big part of that.

Arttu Ruotsalainen – W is even easier to type for us because we took this guy in one of our fantasy leagues months ago. We have been super siked for him to show up and get a chance to show everyone what he is made of. He has already gotten five goals in the short time he has been here and he is making the most of his opportunity. Keep an eye on this guy.

Rasmus Sandin – D. We have some more up and coming talent for you. Sandin has been waiting in the wings all season to play for Toronto. He has arrived and is already slotted into the top power play. That is some kind of prospect.

Evgeni Malkin – U. Healthy Malkin is back and he has already thrown it into the next gear.  This makes the Penguins the team to beat in the east with the Capitals having some injury issues and the Islanders facing their own problems. Boston is certainly a dark horse, which is weird to say, but Pittsburgh is clicking at the perfect time.

We are looking forward to a quick break next week before the playoffs start but we are all in until the last puck drops. Don’t forget to look us up on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX). Have a great Thursday!
