We do not want to dive into the mess that is the Tom Wilson situation but we feel we need to make ourselves clear that that sort of player does not belong in the league anymore. All of that was unnecessary levels of violence against players who do not play that sort of game. The NHL needs to do better.

In brighter news the Minnesota Wild are a wagon! Did you know they have beat the Vegas Golden Knights five times this season? The Winnipeg Jets have the perfect chance to right the tailspin and punch their ticket to the playoffs with a win over the Calgary Flames. The Nashville Predators can greatly increase their odds as well if they can take care of that pesky CBJ business. So much hockey and so little time!

Here’s a dirty lineup For DFS Hockey 5/5/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterN. MacKinnon$9,200
Center
WingK. Connor$7,000
Wing
Wing
DefenseA. Fox$6,800
Defense
GoalieVasilevskiy$8,200
Utility $4,500

Nathan MacKinnon is somehow having an underrated season because of the years that McDavid and Matthews are having. MacKinnon deserves to be in the conversation for Hart even if we know he will not get it. The biggest knock against him is probably the fact that his line as a whole is clicking and not just him. Having Landeskog and Rantanen as your wings goes a long way.

Kyle Connor is on one of the longest skids of his career and it is just not sustainable. The Jets face the Flames today and should be able to make easy handiwork out of them and figure out some of their issues. If not they look to be a quick first round exit.

Adam FoxIt is unlikely that the Rangers take any real retaliatory measures against Wilson tonight since they are not built for that. Instead we are hoping they absolutely tear them apart in net. Fox should be piling on shots and doing everything necessary to secure a win tonight. The standings do not matter to an eliminated team, this is about pride and principle.

Andre Vasilevskiy maintains one of the best records in hockey right now. The Lightning themselves have been getting by without Stamkos or Kucherov but we did get word that they have started skating. If the first round matchup goes the way we think it will, the Battle for Florida will be epic. The Lightning should be doing their best to knock Dallas out of the running tonight for everyone’s sake.

Now what do you get if you sign up for $99 now

  • A cheap Rangers stack meant to do the most damage
  • An aging vet giving his young team life
  • The funnest player to own right now

Here’s a dirty lineup For DFS Hockey 5/5/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterN. MacKinnon$9,200
CenterJ. Eriksson Ek$4,100
WingK. Connor$7,000
WingD. Brown$5,000
WingV. Kravstov$2,500
DefenseFox$6,800
DefenseK. Miller$2,700
GoalieVasilevskiy$8,200
UtilityC. Caufield$4,500

Joel Eriksson Ek – C has bounced around lines this season but is currently on the top one. We would love to see him get 20 goals. He had 24 total in his first few seasons and has found an extra gear. You will be hearing about him quite a bit from us next year as we expect him to make another big jump.

Dustin Brown – W. Do not forget that the Kings made a run at the end of last season before Covid hit and even though they cannot make the post-season they have a very young and forward looking group who want as much experience as they can get. They would love to finish in the standings about a Coyotes team that is fizzling right now.

Vitali Kravstov – W will be playing on the top line for the Rangers and the young talent will have some options to prove himself. He is big enough that he could go toe-to-toe with Wilson or just set up Zibanejad for a hat trick. Either way we will be paying close attention to his play tonight.

K’Andre Miller – D. This beating of the Caps is of course going to be a team effort. Miller would also love to prove himself but, again, on the scoresheet. He is top pairing with Adam Fox and has a bright future ahead of him.

Cole Caufield – U. This kid is having too much fun. Need an overtime winner? He is your guy. It is hard not to like the kid who has scored his first two NHL goals after regulation was over. All he does is win…literally.
