The regular season is coming to a close and the final playoff spots are being fought for. For many teams this will be the last week of their season and golf bags will start to come out of storage as eliminated teams start to hit the links. We have some good matchups for you today with some strong leanings. The big one is going to be the New York Islanders vs the Buffalo Sabres. The Sabres are putting in their fifth or sixth string goalie. We cannot keep track at this point. The Pittsburgh Penguins face their state rivals the Philadelphia Flyers who have been officially eliminated and who are likely to be vying for a high draft pick. This could get ugly. The last one we will focus on will be the Nashville Predators over the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Predators are trying to keep Dallas at bay and could use a win over a team that has fallen even below the Detroit Red Wings. Columbus is going to have a tough off season but we are hopeful for a resurgence next year.

Here’s a killer lineup For DFS Hockey 5/3/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterS. Crosby$7,000
Center
WingM. Marner$8,500
Wing
Wing
DefenseR. Josi$7,100
Defense
GoalieS. Varlamov$8,500
Utility $4,600

Sidney Crosby did not make it on our list nearly enough this year. We hope to rectify that a little here with a great matchup. Crosby could score zero points for the last five games and still be guaranteed a point per game season. We do not expect that to happen though as Sid the Kid has helped his team all the way to the top of the east division without the help of Malkin for most of the season. He’s still got it.

Mitch Marner is getting hype for his offensive prowess but his defensive game is still very underrated. His ability to hunt down the puck and then get it to Matthews is something we will be dropping our jaws over for years to come.

Roman Josi is a top tier blue liner. He does it all. He piles on shots and blocks and is rewarded with points on the board pretty frequently. If the Blue Jackets start piling up penalty minutes, Josi and the power play will tear them apart.

Semyon Varlamov has a very nice streak that we are going to not talk about. As is tradition. The Islanders are figuring out their last few roster moves as they angle for a deep playoff run. It is all built on top of a defensive system and goalie skill that much of the league wishes it could have.

Now what do you get if you sign up for $99 now

  • A cheap Nashville stack designed to do damage
  • One curve ball from an unlikely team
  • A very cheap center with a lot of production

Here’s a killer lineup For DFS Hockey 5/3/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterS. Crosby$7,000
CenterJ. Pageau$3,800
WingM. Marner$8,500
WingL. Kunin$3,900
WingE. Dadonov$3,200
DefenseR. Josi$7,100
DefenseM. Reilly$3,400
GoalieS. Varlamov$8,500
UtilityE. Tolvanen$4,600

Jean-Gabriel Pageau – C is only an average of one fantasy point per game behind Barzal but he is over $2,000 cheaper. Come on, that is silly. We are glad to see Barzal back in the top center position but we still like the third line the most. They are fun, skilled, and a huge reason for the teams success.

Luke Kunin – W is raising his shots floor which we really like to see. He is a goal scorer at heart as can be seen by four of his last five points having found the back of the net. He will be a sleeper pick for next year because his injury slowed him down a bit but he is going to be hitting a new gear soon.

Evgenii Dadonov – W. Just a little change up here with a Senators pick. Lost among all of the other storylines the Winnipeg Jets have lost six in a row and the Senators are the only team to not get shut out this year. The Jets will also have their backup tender in so there are some interesting opportunities in Ottawa.

Mike Reilly – D. You would think that the Bruins should have an easy time with the Devils since almost everyone else has. For whatever reason New Jersey has been a huge thorn in Boston’s side this season. Reilly is looking for his first goal of the year and the Bruins can make a statement tonight by coming out on top and greatly increasing the chances that they make the playoffs.

Eeli Tolvanen – U is the other guy we want to take from Nashville. He is double digits in goals and is another success that does not get enough attention. We do wish he were a little cheaper but with this juicy matchup we will shell out the extra coin.

Happy Monday! Get those picks in and get ready for a lot of games to look like they are already in the playoffs. It’s going to be a big week. Check us out on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) and have a great day.
