NHL DFS Picks For May 29, 2021

Tuuka Rask DFS
PHILADELPHIA, PA - FEBRUARY 03: Boston Bruins Goalie Tuukka Rask (40) makes a save of the puck during the second period of the National Hockey League game between the Boston Bruins and the Philadelphia Flyers on February 3, 2021, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA. Max Pacioretty and the Vegas Golden Knights have eliminated the Minnesota Wild in seven games. Our article yesterday was predicated on the fact that Pacioretty, who has not even participated in a morning skate, would not be playing. We said that he would have already been the deciding factor and then he came in and got the game winning goal. C’est la vie.

Today’s games include some overlap between Round 1 and Round 2. The Toronto Maple Leafs will try and finish their series against the Montreal Canadiens while the Boston Bruins face a surging New York Islanders in Game 1. We will focus on the former as there is probably more chance for scoring there. Boston and Long Island have fantastic defense and goalie systems which may lead to a low scoring affair.

Here’s a crossover lineup For DFS Hockey 5/29/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterA. Matthews$9,200
Center
WingZ. Hyman$6,200
Wing
Wing
DefenseJ. Muzzin$4,800
Defense
GoalieT. Rask$8,000
Utility $4,400

Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner seem to have a little playoff monkey on their back right now. It is fantastic for their team that their depth can also score and win them games but they could really use an emphatic win tonight spearheaded by their superstars. They will not stand a chance in the second round if these guys cannot step up.

Zach Hyman was the best player on the top line and he managed to get a goal and six shots on Carey Price. That is an impressive feat and he is a critical piece of this squad. Useful in all situations, Hyman gets into the dirty areas and creates opportunities for his teammates.

Jake Muzzin lives firmly in our high floor category. He takes shots and blocks shots. While he is generally offensive minded that does not always translate to a lot of real game points but it does convert in fantasy because he is still taking shots. Sometimes they go in!

Tuukka RaskThe Maple Leafs are likely to win, but the Habs will be giving Campbell absolutely everything they have. The Islanders scored as many goals as they did against Pittsburgh due to poor goaltending and were not up against a system like Bostons. Game one is in Beantown and the odds are in their favor.

Now what do you get if you sign up for $99 now

  • A certain type of winger that we took three of
  • Another peripheral beast of a defenseman
  • Advice for every arena. Golf, basketball, baseball and much, much more

Here’s a crossover lineup For DFS Hockey 5/29/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterA. Matthews$9,200
CenterJ. Pageau$3,900
WingZ. Hyman$6,200
WingW. Nylander$5,900
WingN. Ritchie$3,700
DefenseJ. Muzzin$4,800
DefenseB. Chiarot$3,900
GoalieT. Rask$8,000
UtilityJ. Anderson$4,400

Jean-Gabriel Pageau – C is still one of the more reliable players on the Islanders. The other lines each have their own little issues but JGP holds down one of the best third lines in hockey. It looks like Wahlstrom is out but that leaves the two new acquisitions from the Devils to play with him. Palmieri and Zajac have worked well with their new team and bring a deep veteran presence.

William Nylander – W is the best player on the Maple Leafs right now. We went after him last game and he continued to produce. He is on a several game point streak and is one of the few guys who could just do whatever they wanted on the ice.

Nick Ritchie – W is an interesting depth piece for Boston. He spends most of his time on the third line but he does enjoy top power play time with one of the best in the league. Like Hyman he will set up shop in front of the net and create headaches for defensemen and goalies alike. It’s all about creating opportunities and he does it with aplomb.

Ben Chiarot – D is going to have some bruises when he wakes up tomorrow. He is capable of blocking more shots than most and it is likely he is called upon to sacrifice his body even more to keep the Canadiens in this. He is a warrior and we wish him the best of luck tonight.

Josh Anderson – U. There seems to be a theme here today. Please read up on Hyman and Ritchie why we like this guy. He is a swiss army knife and always a scoring threat when he steps over the boards.

Fans will in fact be in the Bell Centre tonight as well as Boston Garden. Those barns are going to get loud and may play a larger than normal role in home ice advantage since no one has had that all season. Check us out on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) and have a safe weekend.
