NHL DFS Picks For May 24, 2021

Austin Matthews DFS
TAMPA, FL - DECEMBER 13: Toronto Maple Leafs center Austin Matthews (34) reaches for a puck on the boards during the third period of an NHL game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Tampa Bay Lightning on December 13, 2018, at Amalie Arena in Tampa, FL. (Photo by Roy K. Miller/Icon Sportswire)

The Edmonton Oilers are on a bus to sweep city and they had better tell the driver to pull over soon and turn it around. We will be circling around them a little today as it seems nearly impossible that the Winnipeg Jets could pull off this sort of upset but here we are. The Golden Knights also have a chance to send the Minnesota Wild packing and they appear to have things in hand. The Tampa Bay Lightning have been making mincemeat of the Florida Panthers with the return of Kucherov and Stamkos. They look the part of a Cup winning squad and Florida has an uphill battle ahead of them.

Here’s a feisty lineup For DFS Hockey 5/24/21 (using DraftKings Values)

WingM. Stone$6,800

DefenseT. Barrie$5,700

GoalieI. Sorokin$7,600
Utility $3,200

Auston Matthews found what he needed and did what we said he would in leading his team through a dark time. The journey is not over though and Montreal is said to be putting Cole Caufield in to turn the tides. Caufield will be of little concern to Matthews as he and Marner spend most of their time in the opposition’s zone terrorizing their defense.

Mark Stone has been upping his celebration game as of late. He looks like a man possessed and has been playing out of his mind. His hair matches his personality as it just creeps out from below his bucket and starts to flow behind him as he skates. The Wild just do not possess leadership that matches up here.

Tyson Barrie will need to get on the scoreboard tonight if the Oilers have any chance of turning things around. He is top power play in Edmonton and has the usual weapons with McDavid and Draisaitl. It should be too early to play with desperation, but that is all they have left.

Ilya Sorokin is quickly cementing himself as the starter for the Islanders even though we are in the postseason. Varlamov has been playing well but seems to be nursing a small injury. Barry Trotz is comfortable with that though given the talent level of their backup. He will let in a dud per game but then play lights out.

Now what do you get if you sign up for $99 now

Here’s a feisty lineup For DFS Hockey 5/24/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterA. Matthews$9,200
CenterJ. Pageau$3,900
WingM. Stone$6,800
WingA. Tuch$5,000
WingC. Caufield$4,100
DefenseT. Barrie$5,700
DefenseJ. Brodin$4,200
GoalieI. Sorokin$7,600
UtilityP. Stastny$3,200

Jean-Gabriel Pageau – C continues to be a fantastic depth option at center. He is dangerous whenever he is on the ice and people seem to forget that he is a shorthanded dream. Few guys in the NHL can score when they are on the penalty kill like JGP can.

Alex Tuch – W. Do not even act surprised that we are holding this line with Pacioretty still out. Tuch plus Stone is a nasty combination and Chandler Stephenson between them just makes it better. Tuch is maturing at an incredible rate right now and should earn himself top six minutes next year.

Cole Caufield – W. Can we place a bet on whether he scores the overtime winner? The Canadiens were slow to put their super young guys in in favor of veterans, which we understand to a point. On the other hand, it is Cole Caufield you are sitting. The point of the game is to score goals. His nickname is Goal Caufield…what are you waiting for!?

Jonas Brodin – D is an all around defenseman that has not made our list nearly enough. We keep looking at him and thinking that he is a decent option but go somewhere else. Then he has a good night and we say we will do it next time. Well tonight is the night. He does it all and the Wild are all in with nothing to lose.

Paul Stastny – U is a very cheap center given how well the Jets are playing right now. He has Pierre Luc Dubois and Andrew Copp on his wings and the veteran is no slouch himself. If the Jets win tonight they will need secondary scoring to make up for all the points McDavid and Drai are going to post.

Some of the second round is already starting to show its shape with the Avalanche and Bruins punching their tickets. Let’s find out if one or two more can seal the deal and move on. Check out our Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) to see what else we have to offer you. Have a great day!
