There will be a strange end to a strange season as the Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks still need to finish their games but because they are out of contention the playoffs will start before they are done. Also as a heads up even though there is one more regular season matchup tomorrow, today is the last day we will be writing on anything that is not the postseason. We will have a short blurb about it tomorrow but wanted to let you know ahead of time.
We do have some interesting matchups today that may not matter from a standings point of view but do matter to teams who are still trying to fine tune everything and go into the playoffs with some momentum. The St. Louis Blues smoked the Minnesota Wild yesterday and they should be looking for revenge. The Colorado Avalanche should win handily but their backup goalie will probably let a couple in. The last game between Vancouver and Calgary is largely a toss up at this point and we will get a guy or two from that game.

Goalie | K. Kahkonen | $7,900
Utility | $3,300 |
Joel Eriksson Ek is the not best center we are rostering today but he made a huge jump this season. He gets the short end of the deal sometimes because he is not a bonafide number one centerman in the league but he has done well with the extra responsibility. He will look to finish the season strong.
Kirill Kaprizov did not get us a goal yesterday but still got the five shot bonus and was worth picking. We find it hard to believe he will not put one in net tonight. He is going to have a huge spotlight on himself when the playoffs start and we think he will both meet and exceed expectations.
Cale Makar. It looks like we are not changing yesterday’s main lineup that much. Makar had a very unusually quiet night last night and we are putting it behind us. As long as he gets one point tonight he will finish his regular season with a point per game. He will make it happen.
Kaapo Kahkonen will be in net tonight. The Wild and Cam Talbot got destroyed last night and they need to make sure that they do not let the Blues get too much confidence. This will be a playoff level match and might even go to overtime.
Now what do you get if you sign up for $99 now
- MacKinnons temporary replacement on the top line
- A Wild stack that does not include Kaprizov
- A venerable defenseman
Here’s a regular lineup For DFS Hockey 5/13/21 (using DraftKings Values)
Center | E. Lindholm | $7,000
Center | J. Eriksson Ek | $4,700
Wing | K. Kaprizov | $7,300
Wing | J. Greenway | $4,100
Wing | J. Donskoi | $3,900 | |
Defense | C. Makar | $6,600
Defense | D. Doughty | $5,200
Goalie | K. Kahkonen | $7,900
Utility | T. Jost | $3,300 |
Elias Lindholm – C is an underrated center who has been very consistent in his first few seasons in the league. Too many pundits use the point per game mark as an indicator of whether a player is good or not and that just does not apply to Lindolm. He is still close while dealing with inconsistent linemates and a team overall that just misses the mark. He is still fantastic.
Jordan Greenway – W is a monster of a man whose duty it is to protect Eriksson Ek. He is in a little bit of a slump and should be firing on all cylinders tonight. He is a top six talent and has shown some playmaker abilities. Check him out.
Joonas Donskoi – W should be called upon to do a little more tonight as his whole line should be with MacKinnon resting the last couple games. Even with his goal last game he needs to get another point or two to zip up his season in a nice tidy way.
Drew Doughty – D is still the top power play guy in Los Angeles and like the end of last season, this team will be trying to end on a high note. They face Jonas Johansson in net which should be ample opportunity to sneak some goals in.
Tyson Jost – U has the honor of taking over Nathan MacKinnons spot and will have two overpowered weapons on his wings. Mikko Rantanen and Gabriel Landeskog had incredible seasons and they will know how to get the most out of their young center.
