NHL DFS Picks For May 1, 2021

Connor McDavid + Leon Draisaitl
CALGARY, AB - MARCH 15: Edmonton Oilers Left Wing Leon Draisaitl (29) and Edmonton Oilers Center Connor McDavid (97) talk between whistles during the third period of an NHL game where the Calgary Flames hosted the Edmonton Oilers on March 15, 2021, at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, AB. Every team in the National Hockey League has a game today except the Winnipeg Jets. The Seattle Kraken have officially been admitted to the league and will finally get us to 32 teams. We are looking forward to Elliotte Friedman’s podcast to update to 32 Thoughts and get one more good nugget out of him a week. There are way too many storylines to try and sort out so we are just getting after it.

Here’s a wide lineup For DFS Hockey 5/1/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterC. McDavid$9,200
Center
WingB. Tkachuk$7,500
Wing
Wing
DefenseS. Theodore$6,700
Defense
GoalieM. Smith$8,100
Utility $3,600

Connor McDavid is still the king. The amount of multi point performances in a row he has been getting is record setting. He is probably going to have a 100 point season in 56 games. Go for Auston Matthews if you need to save the $100 for someone you like or if you just like him more. You cannot go wrong with either.

Brady Tkachuk is a sicko. He exists to play hockey and it is all he knows. It does not matter to him where in the standings his team is because they go out there and have fun. It will come together in the next couple years for them as a club but in the meantime he is going to tear it up.

Shea Theodore has been electric this year. He is getting points all over the place and quarterbacks one of the best power plays in the league. He is just under a point per game and is more likely than not to get it done.

Mike Smith has been a hidden gem for the Oilers. He is sporting some of the best numbers of his career and he has been playing a long time. They have a decent matchup against a Calgary team that is struggling to find consistency. A loss for the Flames tonight will make it all but impossible to make the playoffs. The Oilers would love to knock them out.

Now what do you get if you sign up for $99 now

  • Another high caliber defenseman
  • A few of our tried and true cheap guys
  • Access to more daily fantasy sports than you can probably handle.

Here’s a wide lineup For DFS Hockey 5/1/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterC. McDavid$9,200
CenterG. Vilardi$3,100
WingB. Tkachuk$7,500
WingB. Hagel$2,800
WingD. Sprong$2,800
DefenseS. Theodore$6,700
DefenseC. Makar$6,100
GoalieM. Smith$8,100
UtilityJ. Pageau$3,600

Gabe Vilardi – C. What a pass. Between the legs and past two defenders sticks, Vilardi put the puck on Lias Andersson’s tape and he put it in a wide open net. Highlight reel stuff from the young center who is quietly making a name for himself in Los Angeles.

Brandon Hagel – W is another guy who is becoming a fan favorite very fast but does not get much recognition outside of Chicago. The 22 year old has been a firecracker all year and is getting the points to back it up. He should be a mainstay for the Blackhawks for a long time to come.

Daniel Sprong – W has taken full advantage of Ovechkin’s absence and been quite productive on Washington’s top line. Ovi is day to day and could suit up tonight but we think Sprong is making a case for more minutes and this will be one of his last chances. He will do something with it.

Cale Makar – D. The sheer depth of talent the league has is kind of insane. Everywhere you look there are elite athletes. Makar is top pedigree and bolsters an Avalanche blue line that can do a whole lot of damage if you even blink once. Getting to play with the top line on the power play just has to be so much fun. They should make easy work of the Sharks.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau – U is a third line center on Long Island but could easily be a second somewhere else. He always seems to have great young up and coming wingers on his side that he dishes out sweet passes to. We also have not mentioned this in a long time, but he is one of those sneaky guys that could net you a short handed point because he is always dangerous.
