There are just so many good players in this league it is hard to keep finding ways to get the cream of the crop for you. If you are new here, it is important to note that we tend to avoid most of the obvious big names, unless they are in a slump and no one else is picking them. We want to get you the best margins and avoid the most popular players because that is not where the winnings are at. We will give you different priced options to allow for flexibility if there are players you are targeting and there will even be options regarding the type of points a player gets. Do they have a high floor but low ceiling? Or do you need to swing for the fences and only pick based on potential? We will get into lots of different discussions about what is happening in the league so you get a feel for why we are taking who we take.

It is worth noting that Mitch Marner is scoring points at a rate that would put him in the top 10 if he had played more games. He missed almost a month to a shoulder injury and truly came back better than ever. You would not be wrong to take Auston Matthews, of course, since he is the first to 40 goals but Marner deserves a nod for absolutely torching the league on a nightly basis.
We may be guilty of leaning too hard on Colorado’s defense and occasionally their top wingers but more should be said of Darcy Kuemper taking control in the back end. It was a little bit of a transition from the chaos of the Arizona Coyotes to the foundationally sound Avalanche, but he has found his groove and we have not yet seen the best of him.
Aaron Ekblad is very close to being a point per game player and it has been a few since he has gotten one. Our suggestion, dear readers, is to take the guy who few others are going to. What looks like a hot player going cold is just a guy who is simmering and ready to boil. Be on the Ekblad watch for the next few games.

We have been very good about not going after Moritz Seider for a whole week. We think. He would be an easy swap for Ekblad but we may try and get you both of them. The Red Wings did not have a great week, but a matchup against the Yotes might be just what the doctor ordered. Save almost a grand on Ek or double down.
We have been pretty hype on Kirill Kaprizov all year but we did not know to what level he would rise. This was more than just a normal year’s progression. His points per game are higher than Marners and he is doing that on a team that has lost 8 of their last 10. The kid is really something special.
You do not need to overspend on a center today. Sidney Crosby will be less owned than normal due to the matchup against the Panthers and we think this might be the game of the evening. Both teams are not being slowed down by anyone and something has to give.
While we think Detroit is going to come away with a win, their goalie situation is tenuous at best and the Coyotes rarely get shutout. Travis Boyd can do some damage here tonight. Arizona will not be going easy and so this is the best time to grab a shiny new Dysin Mayo. He is averaging two blocks per game and has been seeing a whole lot more ice time. Don’t let the desert people know you found out about him, he is our little secret.
We said we would try and afford you both of the top defenseman and so we have more shiny trinkets from the bottom of the chest. Conor Sheary is on a tear right now. The Caps third line may not look like much but Connor McMichael will be a name you see here in a couple years and Lars Eller is an above average centerman that just gets things done.
The last couple wingers you will need to make choices from are Kevin Fiala and Alex Killorn. Fiala has quickly dipped below Kaprizov’s shadow but has still been generating a ton of offense and is having a very good campaign. Killorn continues to benefit from being in Tampa’s top 6.
Monday was great and Tuesday is going to also be great. The Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) thing is also great if you are into that sort of thing. You already know what we are working on for the rest of the day. Buenos días, amigos.
