NHL DFS Picks For March 5, 2021

Fluerry + Pacioretty DFS
LAS VEGAS, NV - FEBRUARY 26: Vegas Golden Knights left wing Max Pacioretty (67) and goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury (29) celebrate after defeating the Edmonton Oilers 3-0 during a regular season game Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2020, in Las Vegas. (Marc Sanchez/Icon Sportswire)

Jordan Staal was one of the more expensive utility players we have gone after this season and he rewarded us with a goal and two assists. That is just what we do here. Today we will be finally coming around to our knight in shiny golden armor. The Vegas Golden Knights face the San Jose Sharks and it is not likely to be close. The Sharks have been turning it around somewhat but the Knights are marching and cannot be stopped.

Here’s a golden lineup For DFS Hockey 3/5/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Center  $7,000
CenterC. Stephenson $4,200
WingM. Pacioretty $7,400
WingM. Stone $5,700
Wing  $3,800
Defense  $5,900
Defense  $3,600
GoalieM. Fleury $8,200
Utility  $4,400

Marc-Andre Fleury has been the clear number one in Vegas while Robin Lehner is injured. He has let in under two goals most games and that does not count all the goals that are being scored in front of him. The Knights deserve all the confidence in the world with Flower in net.

Mark Stone is just an incredible hockey player. He will not always show up on the score sheet but he is out there getting the puck back, playing well defensively, and still chipping in on offense. He is never phased by being down and is a great captain.

Max Pacioretty is draftable for his shots alone. This dude puts pucks on net for a living. Occasionally those go in and we are happy for the cherry on top. He has an incredibly high floor and when the Knights are buzzing his ceiling is the tallest tower in the castle.

Chandler Stephenson already has more points as Knight than he did as a Washington Capital and he did it in about half the games. His speed is a marvel and it has elevated him to the top line. He appears to be in command of that spot and is just getting his career started.

  • Now what do you get if you sign up now?
Alternates that will help you afford Pastrnak.
  • Power play one defensemen that won’t break the bank.
  • Another utility player that we are quite high on.

Brayden Schenn – C ($6,000 DK) shares a line with the ageless David Perron and the two have great chemistry. He could be a top line center on a lot of teams and we would not say he plays second fiddle to Ryan O’Reilly. They are all very complementary of each other and always worth owning.

T.J. Oshie – W ($4,000 DK) had a goal called back against the Bruins for offsides last game. He is one those sneaky players that has Boston’s number and for whatever reason seems to have a good chance of scoring against them. At the very least he is a fun player to watch and might get you that extra goal you need to payout.

Jakob Chychrun – D ($6,000 DK). Even with OEL back, Chychrun has maintained the top spot in Arizona. He is coming out of his shell this year after battling some injuries but the 22 year old looks to have a stellar career ahead of him. Get in while the getting is good.

Torey Krug – D ($5,100 DK) is at a great price for his upside. He is settling in with his new team and showing them why he deserved a raise. He is their power play quarterback and can move the puck very well. There is a sneaky tough matchup against L.A. but he can handle it.

Jordan Greenway – U ($3,400 DK). We have another utility Jordan for you today. He is no Staal but a guy we thought was going to spend most of his time on the third line has elevated his game to the top. He is a large man and has not fully grown into his frame yet but he is learning fast and when he figures it out will terrorize the league for a long time.

Alternative Moves…

Cal Petersen – G ($7,500 DK). If you are chasing after a premier player we can save you some money and get you some low key great value. Petersen may be the backup in Los Angeles but he is going to be in the driver’s seat within a year. Jonathan Quick’s protege will be a league leader in no time and is already worth a long look.

Gabriel Landeskog – W ($5,900 DK) is a bit of a band-aid boy but is healthy right now. The captain of the Avalanche is a point per game player and another guy like Barkov that we forget is younger than you might think. He is a top talent on a top team. Swap out Pacioretty for some great savings.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson – D ($4,200 DK). Swap out Chychrun for OEL to get the last bit of dough you need for Pasta. Do not let the lineups fool you he actually does still get some power play one time and has offensive outbursts.

For a fun matchup watch the Capitals play the Bruins. It will be physical and will be playoff level hockey. Did we miss anything? Let us know on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX). We made it to Friday and are ready to crack a cold one and enjoy the weekend. Cheers.
