There are going to be a few good games to focus on today. The primary match to watch will be the Florida Panthers vs the Nashville Predators. This catfight should have a pretty clear winner and we are putting our money on the team from Sunrise. Beyond that we would be remiss not to point to the north and highlight the Toronto Maple Leafs vs Vancouver Canucks game.

While you leave your picks on the back burner waiting to pay out, turn on the Ottawa Senators vs Calgary Flames tilt for some Tkachuk brothers action. We are looking forward to the next decade of brawls between their teams even if they said their mom is not allowing them to actually fight one another.

Here’s a sneaky lineup For DFS Hockey 3/4/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterA. Barkov $7,000
Center  $6,600
Wing  $5,100
Wing  $4,600
WingF. Vatrano $3,800
Defense  $5,900
DefenseM. Weegar $3,600
GoalieS. Bobrovsky $7,800
Utility  $4,400

At the top of our list today we have Alexander Barkov. We have been highlighting him more as of late and have been appreciating his production. Sasha just hit his 500th game and we still cannot believe the 25 year old has been in the league for eight years. Congratulations on the milestone and here is to many more.

Frank Vatrano is a bit of a late bloomer due to having gone undrafted but he has grinded his way to the top line in Florida alongside Barkov. Someday he will see top power play time but his five on five numbers are among the best in the league. He is breaking out right now, do not miss out.

Mackenzie Weegar is in a similar boat as Vatrano. He almost went undrafted having gone in the last ten in 2013. The thing to note about Weegar is his shot percentage. It is half of his career average which means that he is due for a couple. Keith Yandle has been underperforming and Weegar is closing in on getting that power play time.

Sergei Bobrovski is back on the case! By the numbers he is not having the best of seasons but it is a far cry from last year’s misery and the Panthers are putting in goals and so Sergei has a winning record. With the matchup against a depleted Nashville team look for him to settle in and find his groove.

Now what do you get if you sign up now?
Alternates designed to afford you know who.
Third line standouts.
One player from a team likely to lose but who will shine anyway.

Vincent Trocheck – C ($6,600 DK) may as well be the number one center in Carolina right now. The former Panther has found his home and is flourishing. Twelve goals so far this season and his numbers look sustainable. He is not a flash in the pan, he is the real deal.

William Nylander – W ($5,100 DK). Toronto is a wagon right now and Nylander is one of the ponies hauling this cart. All the naysayers can jump off and walk. We will be going with a small spread of Leaf wings today but Nylander is on fire and the matchup against the Canucks is too good to pass up even if this streak has some unsustainability to it.

Zach Hyman – W ($4,600 DK) is our other Leaf to target. He will probably stay on the third line for awhile but on this team that is not a problem. He gets greasy in front of the net and on his other side is Ilya Mikheyev who beat Connor McDavid in a foot race this past week. This team is overflowing with talent.

Morgan Rielly – D ($5,900 DK). We are laser focused on our favorite games today and so we continue to roll with Rielly. Matthews is back and their power play continues to roll. Fantasy points aside Rielly is such a critical piece of this team and was a front runner for the captaincy before Tavares came in.

Jordan Staal – U ($4,400 DK) is a fascinating player. He is closing in on 1000 games played and is still out there dominating. His deployment may seem like just a third line center but he gets close to 20 minutes a game because he is top power play and mostly for his faceoff wins. He is incredibly versatile and worth a look. We will be swapping him out for a cheaper alternate to help you afford another superstar but do so with caution.

Alternative Moves…

Auston Matthews – C ($8,900 DK). We had $1,200 left over from our main lineup so if you swap out Barkov for Matthews we only need to find you $700 more. Easy clap.

Oliver Wahlstrom – W ($3,000 DK). Disregard Oliver being sent to the taxi squad it is purely a paper move. Do not disregard that his hot play has been done with only ten minutes of average ice time. He is one of the Islanders secret weapons alongside Jean-Gabriel Pageau on the third line. Swap out Nylander to save a savory two grand to afford our last guy.

J.T. Miller – U ($5,700 DK) is an upgrade over Staal. The Canucks may have an uphill battle but if they are to prevail then Jimothy Timothy will have a hand in it. He is at around a point per game and is a key piece in Vancouver.

We are pumped about the spreads today. Which one do you like better? Was there another matchup you wish we went harder on? Come heckle us on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX). Have a great Thirsty Thusday.
