NHL DFS Picks For March 31, 2022

Cole Caufield
MONTREAL, QC - JULY 02: Montreal Canadiens right wing Cole Caufield (22) plays with a puck at warm-up before the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs Final game 3 between the Tampa Bay Lightning versus the Montreal Canadiens on July 02, 2021, at Bell Centre in Montreal, QC (Photo by David Kirouac/Icon Sportswire)

As predicted, Ryan Strome was held out of the New York Rangers game and Andrew Copp stepped up in a big way with a goal and five shots. We also suggested grabbing Artemi Panarininstead of Timo Meier for a nice discount but still keeping a high ceiling and the Breadman delivered. The two hooked up for the game winner and it was a beauty. Did you take our super hidden gem for $2,900? He scored a goal, too. All of the best stuff is for subscribers, so make sure to sign up because we are gearing up for playoffs and they are going to be wild!

Here’s a fisherman’s lineup For DFS Hockey 3/31/22 (using DraftKings Values)

DefenseN. Dobson$6,400

GoalieS. Varlamov$7,900

Semyon Varlamov and the New York Islanders are finally putting together the season they envisioned before Covid and injuries completely derailed them. This would be Ilya Sorokin’s game but he has a minor injury that he is tending to and Varly will get the full support from his squad.

Noah Dobson has been logging some big boy minutes even with the little boy face. The 22 year old is 6’4” but you might think he was still in high school at first glance. He has been elevating his game in a big way and almost every game sets a higher mark for most points in his career.

Brock Nelson has stolen the number one center job from Mat Barzal and it is well deserved. He is more consistent, scores more goals and is just more dependable in all situations. We hope Barzy can figure it out next year, but it feels like we say that every year. Give the reins to Brock Lobster.

It was fortuitous in the worst way that we did not take Kyle Connor yesterday. He is out with Covid and so we are going back to Nik Ehlers. He only got the assist and a couple shots but he has more in him than that. The Jets will be relying on him to fill the massive void that Connor leaves, but he is actually capable of filling it.

Funnily enough we are considering Mat Barzal as a stack with Nelson since they are facing a Columbus team that just looks lost out there. Their goaltending is garbage with Joonas Korpisalorequiring surgery and the surging Islanders will be coming out full force tonight. Since we poo-pooed him, our other option for you is Tyler Seguin. The Stars are playing a Ducks team that is in the worst free fall in the league. Ten losses in a row and counting.

It may be a bit of a big swing since he was recently demoted to the third line, but William Nylanderis a very good hockey player that is just a bit lost right now. No one else will be taking him, but he did get an assist after the kick in the butt, so hopefully that fire under it will get him going. Cole Caufield in this range is always a solid pick with an outside shot at 20 goals this season. He will likely be a 30 goal scorer next season and he is putting together the pieces to make it happen.

Why is Tyler Toffoli so cheap right now? That makes no sense. He needs to be on your roster at that price and even though the Ducks are not doing well as a whole, Troy Terry can still score a goal any night he is out there.

Depending on who you have been taking, you could have as much as you need to get a shiny Dougie Hamilton or may need to skimp and go for a still shiny but less lustrous Rasmus Andersson. We love them both and they will do right by you.

Thursday signals the slow down period for a lot of folks out there, but we urge you to finish out the week strong. Work hard, play hard. You know about our Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) already. Get ready for an awesome weekend. Cheers.
