NHL DFS Picks For March 30, 2021

Andrei Vasilesky

The good is that MacKinnon was the best and cheapest pick of the big three. The meh is that Grubauer had about as weak a win as one can get. But a win it was and the rest of our squad picked up all the slack. Our utility guy had four shots and a shootout goal and those cheap defensemen picked up three assists between them. It was a good day.

As we look at the standings it is worth noting that the Central Division is a mad house right now. The Nashville Predators have won five straight and have bumped the Blackhawks out of a playoff spot. Dallas looks out of it but they have a few games in hand and if they can turn it around could make a late push. The Panthers were missing Barkov and now Ekblad is done for the season. We will see if the cushion they built themselves will be enough. No one is safe.

Here’s a dangerous lineup For DFS Hockey 3/30/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Center
Center
WingOvechkin$8,400
WingE. Tolvanen$4,100
Wing
DefenseD. Nurse$6,400
Defense
GoalieVasilevskiy$8,500
Utility $5,300

Alexander Ovechkin wants another Rocket Richard trophy. He has ten goals in his last ten games which is absurd. That he is 35 years old and still ripping nets to shreds is a testament to his sustainability. We have all been very lucky to watch his career unfold.

Eeli Tolvanen is an up and coming star in Nashville. His time on ice does not reflect the first line position he has worked his way into but he has seven points in his last five games. He is a big reason why Nashville is quietly working their way back into playoff contention.

Darnell Nurse continued his beast mode campaign with an overtime winner fed by the one and only Connor McDavid. That all his points are at even strength is remarkable. Oskar Klefbom going down at the beginning of the season opened the doors and he blew them open.

Andre Vasilevskiy is the best goalie in hockey right now. Put him in your lineup.

Now what do you get if you sign up for $99 now

  • Two centers with a combined 27 points in their last 10 games
  • A utility guy punching above his weight
  • Access to more daily fantasy goodness than you can handle

Here’s a dangerous lineup For DFS Hockey 3/30/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterS. Aho$6,100
CenterR. Strome$6,000
WingOvechkin$8,400
WingE. Tolvanen$4,100
WingL. Kunin$2,700
DefenseD. Nurse$6,400
DefenseC. Foote$2,500
GoalieVasilevskiy$8,500
UtilityR. Hintz$5,300

Sebastian Aho – C. We look forward to Vincent Trochek’s return for everyone’s sake but Aho has been holding down the fort admirably. There are very few guys in the league where we do not really care who their wingers are and Aho is one of them. He is that good.

Ryan Strome – C is slowly closing in on a point per game. With 32 points in 34 games he is outpacing Mika Zibenejad, the Rangers top center. He has Artemi Panarin on his wing who will almost certainly take the scoring title from both of them even with time missed due to personal reasons. This is a fun line.

Luke Kunin – W. We had to get a couple super cheap picks for you today and we are happy to finally get Kunin back on board. He missed some time due to injury but has two assists in two games since returning. We were really high on him as a sleeper this year entering the season. He has not lived up to those expectations but he is still finding his game. Check him out.

Cal Foote – D. If we are honest there was not much left to choose from when we got here. Stick with us though because Foote is another one of our long term looks. He finally hit twenty minutes played in a game which is a big deal for the 22 year old. He was pushing a half a point a game in the AHL so he should be surprising people pretty soon.

Roope Hintz – U is on fire right now. He has been doing a bang up job of being the top center for the Stars while lines shuffle around him. He has rookie Jason Robertson and veteran Joe Pavelski on his wings and they are clicking right now. This will be a game to watch.

Alternative moves…

Artemi Panarin – W can replace Ovechkin for a quick $700 in savings while maintaining a very high ceiling. He is at 1.25 PPG and is a great stack with Strome. If this line gets it going they will drag the Rags to victory.

Robby Fabbri – W. We do not often target Red Wings for obvious reasons but Fabbri is worth a look. Swap out Hintz for him and save yourself over a grand. The Panthers are depleted right now and the Wings are on a two game win streak. Their top line is the only one to write about and Fabbri is on it.

Patrice Bergeron – C. You now have enough cash to swap out Aho for Bergie. Marchand has been upgraded to healthy and this line needs to produce and lay the smack down on New Jersey to make sure that the Bruins right the ship.

There is a lot to think about today with a wide swath of picks and matchups. Are you going with our main ticket or are you doubling down and going after two? Tell us about your strategies on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) and we will see if we can help you out some more. Cheers.
