We are going cheap on defensemen again to get you some baller centers. Spoiler alert: McDavid is not one of them. As much as we would love to play him he is incredibly expensive and we want to balance out the talent from a lot of great matchups. Vegas, Philadelphia, and Colorado have some juicy opportunities and that is where we are focusing our efforts.
Here’s a balanced lineup For DFS Hockey 3/29/21 (using DraftKings Values)
Center | N. MacKinnon | $8,800
Center | |||
Wing | M. Pacioretty | $7,900
Wing | |||
Wing | E. Rodrigues | $3,000
Defense | |||
Defense | |||
Goalie | P. Grubauer | $8,500
Utility | $4,100 |
Nathan MacKinnon will save you a few hundred bucks on McJesus and that will be balanced by the Avalanche playing the Ducks. It looks like Ryan Miller will be in net and while the 40 year old is doing as best he can, he is not what he used to be.
Max Pacioretty is a true renaissance man. Getting him from the Canadiens may have been one of Vegas’ greatest moves. They are a serious cup contender and Patches is a big reason why. He has more average fantasy points than MacKinnon and Draisaitl so consider him a steal at this price.
Evan Rodrigues. Add this guy to the ever growing list of players who are coming out of nowhere and absolutely crushing it. He has earned his way up to the second line for the Penguins and has been a scoring machine. He is a nice cheap pick that will balance your roster.
Phillip Grubauer. You know the drill. Stud goaltender on a studly team. The Avalanche and Golden Knights will face off at some point in the playoffs and the goaltending will be the talk of the town. Grubauer faces a weak Ducks team and is red hot. Play him.
Now what do you get if you sign up for $99 now
- A top center with a strong matchup
- Some low cost, high floor blueliners
- A sneaky utility player not from a major matchup
Here’s a balanced lineup For DFS Hockey 3/29/21 (using DraftKings Values)
Center | N. MacKinnon | $8,800
Center | S. Couturier | $6,300
Wing | M. Pacioretty | $7,900
Wing | T. Konecny | $4,900 | |
Wing | E. Rodrigues | $3,000
Defense | A. Larsson | $3,500
Defense | M. Matheson | $3,000
Goalie | P. Grubauer | $8,500
Utility | K. Labanc | $4,100 |
Sean Couturier – C leads a Flyers team that has been struggling mightily. Luckily for you the biggest issue has been goaltending and we are staying away from Hart for the time being. There is no reason not to go after Flyers players today since they are playing Buffalo who are on a completely different level of low.
Travis Konecny – W is worth stacking with Couturier today. Top line and top power play against a weak team is always the play. Konecny is not having the year he was hoping for but we think his career is far from over and he still has a ton of potential.
Adam Larsson – D is a cheap, high floor option today to afford our other big names. He hits, blocks and takes shots. What else do you need? We will see who is in net for Toronto but whoever it is, they are probably a little suspect. This should be the most fun game to watch even if it is not the best for fantasy.
Michael Matheson – D was a strong acquisition by the Penguins. He has not scored as many points as we may like but he still has a high ceiling. Long term he will most likely take Dumolins spot after his inevitable broken bones happen. In the meantime he will chip in a little for you.
Kevin Labanc – U. The Sharks are not dead yet and they continue to battle every game. Labanc has been having a solid year after taking a bet on himself last season and earning a nice raise. He is showing that he is worth the money and seems like a firm lock for the top line.
