Alexander Ovechkin continued his torrid goal scoring pace and scored two more goals last night. He is a man on a mission and is taking down records left and right. Tonight we will be watching the scoring race between Connor McDavid and Auston Matthews. The young guys know that Ovi is hot in pursuit, will they be able to stay ahead of the beast?
The Toronto Maple Leafs vs the Edmonton Oilers is of course the big ticket for the night with the Oilers being in striking distance of first place. The Leafs have been wavering lately and other hungry teams are taking notice. The Tampa Bay Lightning will also have their hands full with the Carolina Hurricanes who have only lost in regulation once in their last ten games.

Connor McDavid is far away the points leader in the NHL right now. He has ten more than the next guy Leon Draisaitl, his teammate. It has been a long time since someone ended the season having scored the most goals and most assists. McDavid may pull it off.
Auston Matthews may not have nearly as many assists but he is tied for the lead in goals at 21. The two marquee players will be battling back and forth for the crown for the whole season and all of us benefit from it. Go big today and take both these studs.
Laurent Brossoit is the backup goaltender for the Winnipeg Jets and has been doing a bang up job. They played each other last night and the Jets eked out the win so we will see if the Flames can modify their game and solve a fresh Brossoit.
Eetu Luostarinen started off the season strong but has gone quiet for a bit. He has a nice opportunity though with Barkov still sidelined. He is up on the second line with Jonathan Huberdeau and would love to find his offensive spark again.
Now what do you get if you sign up for $99 now
- A semi-stack for Luostarinen on the Panthers
- A physical winger that is back in a top 6 role
- The next generation of goal scorer

Kyle Connor – C picked up another goal and assist last night against Calgary and is slowly picking up steam as one of the top goal scorers in the league. He is tied with Ovechkin right now which is impressive for a 24 year old.
Frank Vatrano – W is in the line blender that Coach Quenneville keeps pulsing. For tonight he will start on the top line and we love when he gets those minutes. It will be without Barkov but Wennberg is capable and Vatrano himself can drive play. Keep an eye on Patric Hornqvist as he got rocked last game. We hope he is ok.
Wayne Simmonds – W is back and Leafs Nation is rejoicing. They finally have their physical, skilled winger back where he belongs. He is playing in the top six with John Tavares and William Nylander. We are not expecting a hat trick here, but he will get you shots and blocks.
Adam Boqvist – D shows as a third pairing guy on the depth chart but he gets top power play time and will still generate some chances. Up until a few games ago he was a half point per game as a 20 year old. This kid is going places.
Neal Pionk – D. We are flipping back to Pionk after having gone for Morrissey earlier this week. Pionk had a nice night last night and so we are playing his hot hand. If you need to save a few hundred bucks swap down and feel good about it.
We are continuing to tweak our format to make it as easy for you as possible to set and forget your lineup. How is it working for you? Let us know what is up on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX). Have a great weekend.
