It is one thing to guess if someone is going to play well, it is another to talk about HOW they do it. We took Rasmus Andersson yesterday and only mentioned that he has a new confidence and plays on the top power play in Calgary. He had an unassisted power play goal that started from half ice. He recovered the Arizona Coyotes clearing attempt at half ice and recognized they were going for a line change and charged ahead, blowing by their defenders to score an amazing goal. That is just what we do here.

Cal Peterson will be in net tonight as Jonathan Quick got the last nod. The Kings have been outperforming like crazy but are also in the middle of some injury issues. They benefit from a weak division and while we have not done the math it should only be one or two games before the Seattle Kraken are officially eliminated from playoff contention.

Speaking of elimination, the Montreal Canadiens have been the first team to mathematically be relegated to golf in the postseason. Their former number one center Philip Danault is now playing for the Kings and has been outstanding. He is coming off a two goal game and this team needs to stay out of reach of Edmonton who is nipping at their heels.

Viktor Arvidsson is one of those guys we never went after because we never trusted the Predators of yore. He has moved over to LA and is playing quite well. He eased back into the lineup after missing a few games and got himself an assist. He is close to hitting that 20 goal season and has a lower than average shooting percentage this year. We already trust him to take shots and we think one might go in.

Arvidsson may actually be a bit too rich for our blood. We are going to upgrade him to Kirill Kaprizov who is putting up mind boggling numbers in his sophomore campaign. Yes, he benefited from maturing a little longer in the KHL but this league is better and he is straight dominating it. The Blue Jackets goalie situation is an absolute mess and they will be falling out of playoff contention in a hurry.

His teammate Joel Eriksson Ek had a bit of a slump recently but did score the overtime winner in their last game and we hope that gives him a new found confidence. He deserves it. Part of the issue may be that his line is so good defensively that they are used in a shutdown role, but they have some offensive firepower. Nico Hischier on the Devils is on the up and up and has four multi point games in a row. He is probably the better bet, we just have a place in our hearts for Ek.

There is a very outside chance that the New York Islanders can reach the playoffs. That is a little crazy because they made zero moves at the deadline, but they have won seven of their last ten. They have an early game which means we cannot take them so we are swinging for the Devils a little bit more. Dougie Hamilton is a boss defenseman and with the Caps faltering, they have a good chance of getting the win tonight.

Tyson Barrie and Evan Bouchard are flip flopping who gets power play one time and cost about the same. Over the long term we feel like Bouchard is the guy but Barrie is apparently playing better right now. One of the biggest questions of their game is whether Jacob Markstrom gets the back to back start because he was not at all challenged last night. If those guys do not float your boat, we have one more traded player that will be trying to make an impact and that is Ben Chiarot over in Florida. Much like Danault he has left for greener pastures and secured the Habs an overpayment for his services.

Kailer Yamamoto is finally relevant again! We do not think anyone expected him to repeat last year but his fall was precipitous. He has worked his way back up the lineup and is in scoring mode. This hinges a bit on whether Markstrom or Dan Vladar are in net, but we hope he can stay consistent. For some more grab bag fun take a peek at Ilya Mikheyev. He plays a very different role than most. He is spectacular defensively and only seems to score goals. Seriously he has almost three times as many goals than assists, we have never seen that before other than an early season explosion, but that always smooths out over time. Carter Verhaege is our last and maybe best cheap winger. He has kept top line time in Florida and has some sweet, sweet linemates to boost him up. He gets a lot of shots on his own and when it works it works.

For utility or even a slight swap at the top center you can safely grab Bo Horvat. He only seems to score on the power play, but that is fine by us. The captain of the Canucks is not having the biggest step ahead in development, but most people do not understand that he is building something unbreakable, he was never meant to have the usual breakout season. He is going to do it consistently over a decade. Sam Reinhart is another one of those depth pieces in Florida that could be top line in many other cities. They have too many weapons.

What beautiful day to be out in nature. We will not be doing anything on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) or any other social media past the time we post this. Get out there and get some fresh air! Catch you on the flip side.
