NHL DFS Picks For March 20, 2021

Leon Draisaitl DFS

Had the Boston Bruins vs the Buffalo Sabres game not been postponed there would have been nearly the max possible games being played today. We will be looking at the late slate of games so we only have nine games to sift through. The first matchup we are interested in is the Dallas Stars vs Detroit Red Wings. The Wings have won two straight and are seeing a nice bump in production. We do not think they will make that three in a row and so are leaning towards Dallas.

Our angle today is going to be getting you a solid center and winger that are upgradeable with our one alternate pick. We will get you close to what you want and let you put your own bow on the present.

Here’s a nasty lineup For DFS Hockey 3/20/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterL. Draisaitl $8,200
Center
WingM. Marner $8,100
Wing
Wing  $4,300
Defense
Defense
GoalieKhudobin $8,500
UtilityT. Hertl $4,200

Leon Draisaitl is a player we ought to pick more often but with McDavid around he tends to play second fiddle. He is of course worth owning in his own right and is a good foundational piece to build a roster on. He is back to centering the second line which we knew was going to happen. Let us see how he does in that role.

Mitch Marner is on a torrid scoring pace putting up 40 points in 30 games. The kid is flat out great. We have said it before and we will say it again, he and Matthews are one of the top five most dangerous duos in the league.

Anton Khudobin had a bad start and was supplanted by Jake Oettinger for a bit but Dobby is back. The Stars need to beat the Red Wings for many reasons but there looks to only be one more playoff spot up for grabs and they are on the outside looking in. They need a big win tonight to have any chance of making it.

Tomas Hertl is a nice utility pick today for a Sharks team that is finding some more offense now that guys are coming off injured reserve. We do hope that Rudolfs Balcers makes it in tonight to supplant Matt Nieto but Hertl still has Timo Meier on his wing which is all he needs.

Now what do you get if you sign up for $99 now

  • A goalie swap that gives you all the cash you need for a big upgrade.
  • A sneaky depth defenseman
  • Access to complete top fantasy advice for PGA, LoL, and much more

Jean-Gabriel Pageau – C has been way too quiet lately. For a team that lacks high end scoring talent the Islanders need JGP to produce. He gets young standout Oliver Wahlstrom on his wing and he also happens to be one of the most dangerous penalty killers on the planet. He has two shorties against the Bruins this year which is no small feat.

Tom Wilson – W is back after a seven game suspension. Are we morally bankrupt for taking a dirty player on our team? We might be but this dude is chomping at the bit and we see a big payday ahead. He should be doing everything except for killing people on the ice because he learned his lesson this time, right guys?

Paul Stastny – W. We pulled a fast one on you and actually have both $4,300 players in Wilson and Stastny. We grabbed him sometime last week and he did not pan out super great but we still like the chances and opportunities he affords us. This should be a fun game to watch.

John Klingberg – D will be part of the Stars resurgence. He has to be. There was a little lull in his production recently but he did get an assist in his last game and we like where he is trending. There has always been an ebb and flow between him and Heiskanen and we think the tide is changing again.

Sebastian Aho – D. Will the real Sebastian Aho please stand up? This is not the Hurricanes Aho this is the defenseman from Long Island. With Noah Dobson on IR he is getting a shot at the big leagues and he has already produced a goal. He will not see this door open for long and he will do everything he can to keep it open.

Carter Hart – G. Swap out Khudobin for Hart. Now you can afford McDavid, Ovechkin or anyone else your heart desires. Sure he has had a rough go of it but the kid is still only 22! The Flyers will figure out this funk and get back on track in no time. We fully expect them to make the playoffs and they would like to make a statement tonight.
