NHL DFS Picks For March 156, 2022

Dougie Hammilton DFS

Our stud of the day yesterday was David Pastrnak. He did not score a goal but he grabbed an assist and nine shots on goal! Shots appear to be up league wide and we would have to do some research to confirm, but there are just crazy numbers being put up. Let’s see if we can get you some silly high shot totals today with some bonus goals. Did you take our last pick of the day? The guy who got that promotion we hinted at used it to the best of his abilities and got a goal and an assist for only $4,000. Stick with us and we will find you all the best deals.

Here’s a sicko lineup For DFS Hockey 3/16/22 (using DraftKings Values)

Center
Center
WingB. Tkachuk$6,400
Wing
Wing
DefenseT. Chabot$6,400
Defense
GoalieA. Forsberg$7,900
Utility

Brady Tkachuk and the Ottawa Senators are sick of losing. They put up 43 shots on Arizona and still managed to lose. It is certainly not Brady’s fault as he took 9 of those himself. He shoots all day every day. Wait until Drake Batherson comes back to be reunited with him and Josh Norris and we are going to see them notch a few more W’s.

A quick peek through Thomas Chabot’s last 10 games will show that he seems to get 6 shots per game way more than we see defensemen usually make. You might also notice the note that says he is the league leader in ice time. That is quite an accomplishment with some serious stamina requirements. The more he is out there the more he can rack up stats for you.

Anton Forsberg is Ottawa’s best bet in net. Take a look at his stats as well because they are kind of eye popping for someone who loses almost as many games as he wins. The Sens defense is a sieve and he routinely needs to make 35+ saves which benefits you greatly.

• A defensemen who may not hit 5 shots but should get you 3+ blocks and some bonus points
• Two cheap wingers that are pretty much automatic weapons with the frequency they attack the net

Jack Hughes is a solid value today. We cannot promise a goal as he is up against a brick wall in Calgary, but he will sure be trying. He is quickly rising into the superstar he was drafted to be and is a ton of fun to watch. Save a few hundred on Chabot and grab our old pal Dougie Hamilton who is another monster shot taker from the blue line.

Finding heavy shot takers under $5,000 can be difficult, but Jared McCann gets close quite a bit. He just signed a pretty $5Mx5 year contract and he is going to grow into that very nicely. If you do not mind loading up on Sens or Devils, Tim Stutzle and Nico Hischier have an outside chance of hitting the mark.

Rasmus Andersson will not get 5+ shots but he could definitely get you 3+ blocks and he has been increasing his point totals a lot this year. In his last two seasons he played 126 games and totaled 43 points. In 59 matches this season he is already at 36. The breakout is happening.

Oliver Bjorkstrand has multiple games in his last 10 where he got 7 shots. He will be attempting to light Forsberg up and a price tag of $4,300 for that sounds just perfect. Wingers are a little easier to find with inflated shots and Tyler Toffoli is one of those guys that likes a lot of pepper on his steak.

Depending on how you put all of that together, Taylor Hall or Joel Eriksson Ek would be solid utility guys. They rarely reach that five mark but they are still more likely to capitalize and get the goal. Taylor has not found the back of the net in way too long and it needs to happen soon.

Happy hump day all. This article was all about shooting your shot, so get out there and get done what you need to get done. World hard, play hard is definitely one of our favorite mottos.
