NHL DFS Picks For March 13, 2022

When did the Islanders learn to score? We will have to do some calculus to see if they stand a chance at all of getting into the playoffs, but they are sure playing like they can. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl did their thing yesterday and made Victor Hedman look like a traffic cone. Two goals blowing by one of the leagues premier blueliners. Crazy town

Here’s a beefy lineup For DFS Hockey 3/13/22 (using DraftKings Values)

DefenseN. Dobson$6,100
Defense
GoalieA. Vasilevskiy$8,300
Utility

Andre Vasilevskiy’s stock has fallen a little after his last two outings but you should be confident in taking him today. The Big Cat is still one of the leagues best and while Vancouver is doing well these days, Tampa is still far and away the better team. They will be turning things around in short order.

When we go to Colorado we tend to take the usual suspects like MacKinnon or Landeskog but we never seem to take Mikko Rantanen. There is no good reason why. We like him well enough, but always tend to like the value that Landy offers or are just going big with the Big Mac. Rantanen is a huge piece of this line and is well over a point per game this year.

Noah Dobson is finally becoming the player the Islanders drafted in the first round in 2018. Defensemen can take a little longer than forwards to get to where they need to be, but when it happens, you get some special players. Dobson has claimed power play one time and has been very effective in that role. Expect to see that responsibility expand over the rest of the season.

We cannot really suggest Jack Eichel given the injuries to his line. He is fine, but we do not know if we are getting Max Pacioretty back today and it is just safer to hold for now. Instead we are going after Steven Stamkos or Brayden Point. Great values for great centers on a great team.

Robert Thomas is playing hot, hot, hot these days. Four goals and two assists in his last two games. Can he keep up the pace? You might find a little more consistency with Ryan O’Reilly and given that he is the Blues number one center, we are leaning towards him, but Thomas is a very interesting gamble.

If you like your defensemen to have power play one availability then Rasmus Andersson might be your guy. He is up against the Avalanche, but it does not really matter if he gets scored on because you do not lose fantasy points like that! He set up Elias Lindholm for his 30th goal of the season, which we predicted. Funny enough, the pass was not even particularly special, it was a dump back into his own zone and Elias just came flying up the ice and did all the work himself. This team is scary good.

Speaking of 30 goal seasons, Troy Terry is at 29 himself. He will not be there long. Until he gets it, he is a must buy. The Ducks have been having a tough go of it overall, but Terry has remained a big bright spot for them. We are also liking Oliver Bjorkstrand in this range. Columbus may be able to pull out a win tonight with Vegas going with a third or fourth string goalie. We do not even know who this guy is and we cover hockey for a living. When is Jiri Patera getting called up?

Nik Ehlers is going to be cheap for a minute and you should jump on board now. Winnipeg desperately needs him and his offense right now. Last season he was chasing a point per game and he will be getting back to that soon. He looks to have shaken any rust off from his missed time and he will be a boon to your fantasy squad. We are also seeing Claude Giroux super cheap and he is up against the Canadiens which is always something to notice.

Here is a platter of three $5,000 utility guys to keep an eye on today. Joel Eriksson EkMikhail Sergachev and Anthony Duclair. That should allow you to fill out your roster however you need.

Sunday, sunday, sunday! Is football back yet? We miss making picks from our NFL guy. Luckily, we have our hands full with the NHL and all is going well. We post and update on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX), if you are new here. Have yourselves a lovely day.
