NHL DFS Picks For March 10, 2022

Dougie Hammilton DFS

This one came out all about injuries. Who is in, who is out and who is coming back? Tough loss for the Toronto Maple Leafs with Jack Campbell out for at least a couple weeks. We just talked about their goalie woes and they just deepened. Fantastic news in Canada’s capital, Drake Batherson is back in practice and recovering more quickly than expected from a heel injury sustained a couple months ago. The first day he is back, you will know about it.

Here’s a spiffy lineup For DFS Hockey 3/10/22 (using DraftKings Values)

Center
Center
WingK. Connor$7,500
Wing
Wing
DefenseD. Hamilton$6,500
Defense
GoalieS. Bobrovsky$8,900
Utility

Sergei Bobrovsky is really getting up there in price but it is easy to see why. The Florida Panthers are crushing just about everyone in their path and they are up against the Philadelphia Flyers today who just shot themselves in the foot by signing Rasmus Ristolainen to a 5x$5M deal. We are technically armchair GMs over here, but that just does not make sense.

Kyle Connor’s short handed goal was a thing of beauty. Nikita Kucherov blew a tire and Connor pounced, flying up the ice with a couple nifty moves to deke Andre Vasilevskiy out of his jock strap. Just like that, add one more goal to his prolific season total.

Dougie Hamilton is back in the game and making an impact for New Jersey immediately. Without even getting a point against Colorado he put up three shots and three blocks. He is a rare do-it-all defenseman. Jersey has been doing well recently and are very capable of scoring goals against a Winnipeg Jets team that occasionally looks lost. Let’s see if they can continue the climb.

The budget hit for Bob is pretty steep, so we have a couple options for you to flex with. Anton Forsberg has been exceeding expectations in Ottawa and a game against Seattle could be another confidence booster. The $8,000 hit is quite a bit better but still kind of up there. If you want to really get after it then we suggest Zach Sawchenko. We know all the stats do not look great, but he is finding some extra confidence himself and a regional matchup against the Kings is exactly what the Sharks need to stop their skid. He will get a win at some point.

Ok, so we did not need to tell you that Colorado is a good team, but the Hurricanes are putting Antti Raanta in net and the Avs are going to take full advantage. You can probably just take Nazem Kadri and be done with it, but there are a couple other things worth pointing out. Gabriel Landeskog is on the second line with NAz and could be a nice swap for Connor. Because Landy is on the second line, the guy who took his spot is Andre Burakovsky. That is a lucky place to be and he should capitalize.

For our second center we are flipping a coin between Tim Stutzle and Philip Danault. Stutzle’s development is coming along at a lovely pace and Seattle’s goaltending is a little bit of a clown show right now. Back into the armchair we go, what were they thinking when they put this team together? Danault is our other cheap option. San Jose stopping a lot of goals is going to be a tall order, but we do still believe in Sawchenko. He will not get a shutout and Danault is finding more consistency on his end as he gels with his new-ish team.

We were bummed to see Zach Whitecloud go down earlier this season but are super happy that he is back. With the Sabres floundering, we expect him to get some more ice time and maybe flex his offensive muscles. One reason the Sharks are going to be bolstered is the return of Erik Karlssonwho is at a perfect price for power play one upside. EK65 missed 15 games and is probably a small reason why SJ has been having issues. This is a big upgrade.

The tale of the NHL always seems to be one of injury. Other than Ovechkin it is an if and not a when it will happen. His former teammate Jakub Vrana just played his first game of the season and scored a goal. He is worth that $4,000 price tag without blinking. His stock will be rising quickly so get in while the getting is good. In the same tier is our boy Yegor Sharangovich. He helped defeat the Avalanche with a shorthanded empty netter and has been a breath of fresh air in the Garden State. One or both would be great additions as a winger or utility guy.

Today definitely took longer than yesterday but it is still fun wading knee deep in stats to pluck out the hidden gems. Are you retweeting our Twitter (@FantasyDFSX)? We would really appreciate some more love out there. Stay thirsty, friends.
