Tonight’s marquee matchup will be the Winnipeg Jets vs the Toronto Maple Leafs. Both teams have had a tough couple games and one of them is going to continue their winless streak. Connor Hellebuyck got pulled in his last game and Auston Matthews has not scored in three games. Tune into this one because it should be fun no matter the outcome. Let’s see if we can figure out who will benefit the most.

Here’s a balanced lineup For DFS Hockey 3/10/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterN. MacKinnon $8,700
Center  $6,100
Wing  $5,300
WingD. Batherson $5,100
Wing  $4,800
Defense  $5,200
Defense  $4,600
GoalieC. Petersen $7,500
Utility  $2,700

Nathan MacKinnon is primed to be back in the lineup tonight. He missed a couple with an upper body injury but it does not appear to be anything too serious. The Avalanche tend to feast on the Coyotes so get him in your lineup. We will see what we can do in our alternates to help you afford McDavid, but he is crazy expensive these days.

Drake Batherson has moved up to the top line in Ottawa. He will get playing time with Brady Tkachuk and whether or not the puck goes in the goal they will be trying their darndest. We are expecting a heavy shot volume and hope Drake continues to get more ice time.

From a little out of left field we are going with Calvin Petersen. He has been playing as a great backup to Quick who is day-to-day. There is a fantastic opportunity for Cal to right the wrongs of two nights ago, adjust, and get back-to-back game experience. You will be hearing his name for years to come once Quick officially passes the torch.

Now what do you get if you sign up now?

  • Two more wingers moved to top lines!
  • Floor raising defensemen.
  • A utility player who may have one last opportunity.

Anze Kopitar – C ($6,100 DK) does not receive all the media attention he used to since the Kings are in rebuild mode. He is still proving to be an amazing mentor and leader on the young team. Thirty points in twenty four games puts him top ten in the league. Not a bad price for that kind of production.

Alex Tuch – W ($5,300 DK). Here we go again. Tuch will be skating on Vegas’ top line while Mark Stone gets patched up. He is having a monster season and has posted twelve goals already. Admittedly, his shot percentage is through the roof and has to come back down to earth at some point, but he is not one to pass up an opportunity.

Kailer Yamamato– W ($4,800 DK) is another winger getting a quick promotion. He is on Connor McDavid’s line while Puljujarvi is slotting in next to Draisaitl. He has been in a bit of a funk recently but is shaking himself loose from it. If there is a time to truly break free it is when you have McJesus by your side.

Quinn Hughes – D ($5,200 DK) hit thirty minutes of playing time in the Canucks last game. He remains one of their most important players especially while Pettersson remains sidelined. His shooting percentage remains low for some reason but he is usually good for an assist.

Ryan Graves – D ($4,600 DK) is another high floor guy. He piles on peripherals and occasionally scores. On that note we wanted to point out that he is behind his pace last year and is another player we think must be ready to put it in the next gear offensively speaking.

Danton Heinen – U ($2,700 DK) is back after being healthy scratched for a couple of games. He may just get the change of scenery he seems to need if he does not perform tonight. To be honest though he needs to perform anyway if another team is going to consider taking him. He should be playing for his career tonight.

Alternative Moves…

Bo Horvat – C ($5,500 DK). When Elias is in the lineup Vancouver kind of has two number one centers and they split duties. With him being out Bo Horvat has picked up the slack and is looking back to how he looked in the playoffs. Swap out Kopitar for Horvat and you can upgrade MacKinnon to McDavid if you so choose.

We are not going to tinker any more with this one since it is chalk full of great opportunities that we can not recommend passing up. If we hit the mark go let us know how we did over on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX). Happy hump day.
