NHL DFS Picks For June 22, 2021 (Showdown)

The Tampa Bay Lightning had a fantastic night. A monstrous 8-0 shutout of the New York Islanders saw Semyon Varlamov chased out of net and another whooping of their backup Ilya Sorokin. Steven Stamkos roared back, Brayden Point continued his goal scoring streak, and almost every player got a piece of the pie. The Islanders have some work to do if they want to push this series to seven.

The Vegas Golden Knights and Montreal Canadiens are tied at two apiece. The big boon to the Habs is that the referees will finally be switched up. Maybe we get to see what they look like on the power play. This will be a tight match and winner gains the lead in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Robin Lehner is almost certainly going to start for Vegas tonight. We really appreciate his quote about getting in two hours before the last game just to read all the comments from haters and get pumped up for the game. This guy is a competitor and has overcome a lot to get to this point. He will be ready again tonight in relief of Fleury who is taking a much needed break.

If you are a big fan of Alex Pietrangelo, you should go out and get him. This is not a slight against him or his potential, just an observation about price versus production. Max Pacioretty comes into the game with a higher FPPG and $800 cheaper. Either is completely capable of taking over the game and is worth owning.

Now what do you get if you sign up now?
•Secondary defensemen who are consistently producing
•A plethora of cheap options you do not need to dig for
•Get 7-days for free and all-access for all sports for $99 per year after

Depending on how you want to roll the dice there is an interesting choice between Cole Caufieldand Alex Tuch. Tuch has greater overall potential now that he is centering Stone and Pacioretty, but he rarely scores goals. The others guys name just so happens to rhyme with goal and he also happens to be very good at scoring them.

To mix things up a bit we are going after one of two secondary defensemen on the Canadiens. To be fair, Ben Chiarot is top pairing on the depth chart but he is there as a physical presence more than anything. Look at his stats and appreciate how consistent he is at getting 8-9 fantasy points. Joel Edmunson has a better chance of showing up on the scoresheet and can also get you some of those peripherals. If he can put that all together he could have a monster night.

Last but not least we have a bucket of leftovers to pick through to round out your roster. Corey PerryJoel ArmiaNick Roy and Mattias Janmark are under the radar picks that have seen decent success and are worth taking a longer look at.

It feels like too long since we have been able to sing the joys of Taco Tuesday. Fill yourselves up with the goodness before turning on a fantastic hockey game. For any and all updates you should be following us on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX). Hasta mañana.
