NHL DFS Picks For June 19, 2021 (Showdown)

Andrei Vasilesky

After a crazy series of events the Montreal Canadiens have gone ahead in the series against the Vegas Golden Knights. The game was 2-1 with a minute left in favor of the Knights when their goaltender made an oopsy-daisy and Josh Anderson capitalized on the mistake and tied it up. After that a wildly blown call that left Corey Perry bleeding profusely from the face in overtime gave the Habs the boost they needed to score the winner. The league really needs to clean up the officiating if they want to grow the sport and protect their players.

Swinging back east we come back to the Tampa Bay Lightning vs the New York Islanders. Tampa are the heavy favorites and we will be leaning on them for a big part of our roster today.

Andre Vasilevskiy is the guy to beat. There is a fantastic photo of him reaching back to make a save that should be plastered all over sports media. The NHL is lagging behind in their messaging so people will not get eyes on it, but it is incredible.

Brayden Point has scored a goal in six straight playoff games. A remarkable achievement that has not been seen in a long time. Steven Stamkos is still playing well and comes in at a cool grand cheaper. Is he going to turn it on to finish off the Islanders?

Now what do you get if you sign up now?
•A comparable first line winger and a second line winger
•The clear choice for a defenseman

It seems a little silly that Victor Hedman and Ryan Pulock are so close in price with the huge disparity in scoring potential. Hedman has been nearly unstoppable. Pulock has his moments and has been elevating his game, but there is a clear choice here.

Take a look at Ondrej Palat and Anthony Beauvillier. Both wingers have a lot of similarities both in skill and price. They have each proved instrumental in getting scoring from unexpected places. Palat has not made his presence known as much as we would have expected by now, but it is a matter of time with the line he is on. Beauvillier and the Islanders second line have been more productive than the Lightnings so that’s why we are highlighting him.

If you are feeling the Islanders tonight then their success will have to run through Mat Barzal. He was pretty quiet last game and needs to at least get more shots on goal. We are pulling for him as he can be a superstar in this league.
