NHL DFS Picks For June 15, 2021 (Showdown)

The Vegas Golden Knights steamrolled the Montreal Canadiens in game one and that may end up being a trend. Did you still go after Cole Caufield? He got himself his first playoff goal and it was a dandy. We struggled with the decision between Shea Theodore and Alec Martinez and that proved to make a lot of sense. They both scored a goal! Theo added an assist on top of that so he ended up being the better choice but, wow, that defensive corp is insane. Even if you went after Pietrangelo he had seven shots!

Today we swing back around to the New York Islanders vs the Tampa Bay Lightning series. The Islanders shocked the Lightning by taking game one. Tampa was caught a little flat footed but there is no way that happens again. Jon Cooper is a fantastic coach and they have been here before. Funnily enough they have ALL been here before since this is a rematch of last year’s conference finals as well. The Islanders won the first game then as well but we all know what happened afterwards. Buckle up, this series is going to seven.

Here’s a spicy lineup For DFS Hockey 6/15/21 (using DraftKings Values)

If anyone is going to figure out Semyon Varlamov it is Nikita KucherovHe had a quiet game but did assist on Tampa’s only goal. He is clearly at 100 percent and fully healed from the surgery that kept him out of the regular season. Say what you will about the cap situation, but it was all legal and he is here to stay.

We want one more big name on our roster before we get to the sneaky picks. Should we go with Brayden Point or Steven Stamkos? Point was the lone goal scorer for the Lightning and that counts for a lot. When we look at the last ten games it looks like both players have ten points. Choosing between two point per game players is kind of fun and it is worth noting that Stamkos is $1,000 cheaper. Top line center or second line winger?

We will be staying away from goalies today and focusing on skaters. Do not let that deter you from either though because they are both phenomenal. We are just getting caught up comparing the two and need to move on with our day.

On the other side of things we have some interesting updates for you. We have not gone after Ryan Pulock all that much this year because he was meant to be more of an offensive threat and that never materialized. He does have four goals already this postseason and one of them was last game against the Lightning. That said, Adam Pelech is our high floor guy of the year. Do you try to go after Pulock’s offensive surge or try to bolster your numbers?

Let’s take a look at the depth of these teams and compare and contrast a little bit. You do not get this far without having several good lines and both teams can ice scary lines while their stars rest. Yanni Gourde and Jean Gabriel Pageau were neck and neck in regular season scoring. If we are honest we are a little surprised to find out Gourde actually had more points. We have relied on Pageau a lot this year and maybe we should have paid more attention to Yanni. This may come down to which team you feel confident will win tonight.

As for a little stack advice, if you take Gourde we would suggest picking up Blake Coleman to complement him. If you go for Pageau then it is worth a swing with Kyle Palmieri. This is going to be a tight match either way and we like the idea that it will be the deeper team that wins. Good luck out there!
