The juggernaut has been taken down in the first round. We will leave it to the hockey media and all the armchair GM’s to dissect this and do the post-mortem. There are just no words for that collapse. The second round is now in full swing and boy do we have some great matchups for you. Today there is only one so we are going with the Showdown format. Pay a bit more for someone who will score you 1.5x points and no restrictions on positions. The Tampa Bay Lightning and the Carolina Hurricanes are both very offensively minded so we are sitting goalies today. Here are the goal scorers you are looking for.

Nikita Kucherov took all the time he needed to get healthy and it does not look like he has skipped a beat. It has to be terribly difficult for the Hurricanes to game plan against this guy because there is no footage from the regular season. He has twelve points in seven games so far and so is flirting with two points a game right now. We had him as our captain but the math was not working out for all the guys we wanted. Consider moving him up there if you are someone who does not fully copy our suggestions.
Sebastian Aho is only 23 years old and is already a point per game player in the National Hockey League. He is an absolute force to be reckoned with and is going to be the face of the franchise for a long time. He has a tall task ahead of him with Andre Vasiliveskiy in net but he has the creativity and skill to make it happen.
Now what do you get if you sign up for $99 now
- A captain who is always a threat when they are on the ice
- A surprise promotion to a top line for cheap money

Here’s a scoring lineup For DFS Hockey 6/1/21 (using DraftKings Values)
Captain | S. Stamkos | $12,600
Flex | N. Kucherov | $10,200
Flex | S. Aho | $9,500 | |
Flex | D. Hamilton | $9,200
Flex | A. Cirelli | $4,400 | |
Flex | B. McGinn | $3,600 |
Steven Stamkos is a living legend. The first pick in the 2008 draft has put together a hell of a career. He has battled adversity and injuries. He has also hoisted the Cup over his head. He knows how to win and shows up when it matters the most.
Dougie Hamilton still puts up monster shot numbers and finds ways on to the scoresheet. We do not envy the Hurricanes front office for the work they will have to do this off season. There is almost no way Dougie does not get more than ten million a year in his new contract even with the salary cap being frozen. He is a beast.
Anthony Cirelli started the playoffs strong with a few points against the Panthers. There has been a little lull but we are sure he will shake it off. He is very cheap for a second line center who also gets some power play time. He also affords us the other big boys on the team and he tends to benefit whenever Stamkos is on. Solid stack.
Brock McGinn. Discount alert! McGinn has been bumped up to the top line in Carolina and you know we take those all day every day. He surprised a lot of people in the regular season and while Svech is on the third line, expect him to make the best of his time at the top.
We hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend and are ready for a great week ahead. Come find us on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) and get ready for the next level of excitement that is the second round! Have a good one.
