NHL DFS Picks For July 7, 2021 (Showdown)

Cole Caufield
MONTREAL, QC - JULY 02: Montreal Canadiens right wing Cole Caufield (22) plays with a puck at warm-up before the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs Final game 3 between the Tampa Bay Lightning versus the Montreal Canadiens on July 02, 2021, at Bell Centre in Montreal, QC (Photo by David Kirouac/Icon Sportswire)

We made it to game 5. Everyone rejoice because we get at least one more day of hockey! No more doom and gloom for the Canadiens, they avoided being swept and put on a nice performance that ended in OT. Unsurprisingly, Cole Caufield factored into that goal because that is already what he does. If you went with our subscriber content for game four you would know that we went hard after the Canadiens and a lot of that paid off. Our pro picks were Josh Anderson and Jake Evans who combined for two goals and an assist. Not too shabby.

Just a heads up, keep your eye on hurricane Elsa as it is expected to make landfall in a few hours and could potentially disrupt the game. You may want to wait until the last minute to put in your picks just in case the game has to get rescheduled.

Here’s a stormy lineup For DFS Hockey 7/7/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CaptainVasilevskiy$16,200
FlexKucherov/Hedman~$9,700

Flex $2,600

At the risk of sounding like a broken record we are sticking with Andre Vasilevskiy as our captain. The numbers last game were not great but no one is ever perfect. Tampa are back at home and are still in the driver’s seat.

There is a pretty big price gap between Nikita Kucherov and Victor Hedman but both managed four shots on goal. Both are offensive dynamos who just could not solve Carey Price. There is not much to worry about there, neither can be kept quiet for too long.

We are shifting our focus for one of our cheap guys to someone else who got on the scoreboard and we like where he is sitting in his lineup. Which one is it? We will never tell! Just kidding, you know where all the juiciest information is.

Now what do you get if you sign up now?
• Third line beasts
• A second liner who will most certainly ascend to the top line next year
• A week of free fantasy advice, followed by a dirt cheap year for $99

We do not expect Vasi to get a shutout tonight but we are leaning back towards mostly Lightning players to fill up our roster. We promise to try and give you the nicest Canadien options available. Ondrej Palat has points in six out of the last seven games. His name gets glossed over because of his baller linemates but he has been a top line winger for a little while now. Speaking of Cole Caufield there is already ample evidence that he is worth a roster spot. He has been getting involved all over the ice and is so quick. He caught up to Jake Evans for the game winner in no time and took a shot that caused the rebound for the waiting Evans.

Yanni Gourde and Blake Coleman almost had too good of a game for us to put them here today. On the other hand they are the meat and potatoes of this team. This third line has everything you could ask for. Physicality, goal scoring and just being pains in the butt.

Tyler Johnson is our cheap pick of the day. He is up on the second line in Tampa and notched an assist in the last game. Just because we have started to look ahead to the 2021 Entry Draft and the Seattle Expansion Draft, Johnson may not be long for this team. He will try and make one last mark and get his name on the Cup.

We hope you are having a great week and are staying cool out there. If for some reason you are not yet following us on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX), please do. Check out our NBA Finals picks as well to keep this party rolling.
