NHL DFS Picks For July 1, 2021 (Showdown)

Auston Matthews
TAMPA, FL - DECEMBER 13: Toronto Maple Leafs center Austin Matthews (34) shoots wide as Tampa Bay Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevsky (88) scrambles across the goal in attempt to make a save during the first period of an NHL game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Tampa Bay Lightning on December 13, 2018, at Amalie Arena in Tampa, FL. Alex Burrows is serving as coach right now for the Montreal Canadiens while Dom Ducharme stays out due to Covid. After the Game 2 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning he made it known that back in 2011 when he played for the Vancouver Canucks that they had won the first two games before losing in seven to the Boston Bruins. Hopefully this will spark some confidence and keep them out of their own heads. They do get back to Montreal and the Bell Centre so being in front of fans is always a boost. Unfortunately, the local government would not authorize an increase in capacity and so they will have to make do with a few thousand fans rather than the close to 20,000 that the Lightning enjoy.

Here’s a comeback lineup For DFS Hockey 6/30/21 (using DraftKings Values)

As we mentioned in the last game, Andre Vasilevskiy is the guy to make your captain. He had an epic performance making 42 of 43 saves for a .977 save percentage. That is absurd. The Lightning only managed 23 shots but three of them went in. There is still a chance for Montreal here given that they had nearly double the shots, but they have to get through Vasi first.

Nick Suzuki was the lone Hab to solve Tampa’s goalie. The youngster has had a very impressive playoffs and it is crazy to think that he still has another season on his entry level contract. Montreal is going to squeeze every bit of value out of that kid. Steven Stamkos had a quiet game but he seems to be doing well every other match so do not worry too much about him, he will show up when he needs to.

Our bargain basement pick is actually staying the same today as our boy had a good night. Come on in to see who it is and why he is worth going after again. We will also have another dude who we thought about putting up but held off for one more game. It is time to put him back in your lineup. These are the cheap picks that will get you paid out!

Now what do you get if you sign up now?
•Big boy defensemen that are closer in potential than you might think
•Thoughts on one of the league’s premier goal scorers
•Get 7-days for free and all-access for all sports for $99 per year after

As we are looking at our cheap picks we are realizing that we can afford quite a bit more for our offensive potential. You could potentially take everyone we gave out for free and also snag Nikita Kucherov. That is not a bad deal and is a really strong card up and down the whole thing. Kuch could easily get you a hat trick and make it look effortless. If Vasilevskiy weren’t our obvious choice for captain we would go back to this beast.

It is still worth giving you some more options and letting you know about a couple other potentials if you do not want to follow that path. Victor Hedman and Shea Weber are very interesting picks right now because Shea has been consistently a better fantasy point scorer recently but Hedman may also feel slighted after not having won the Norris trophy this year. All the props to Adam Fox for bringing home that hardware but we were a little surprised at that one.

Tyler Johnson did us a solid and got himself an assist, two shots and two blocks. An all around solid performance. We are now looking to Joel Armia on the other side to step up his game. He played physical, got a couple shots and a couple hits but did not get on the scoreboard. He should get a couple more minutes of play tonight and get back to where he was before his injury.

The weekend is here and we are kicking back for some top tier competition. Smash that follow button on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) and let us know how we are doing. Cheers!
