We were almost wrong last night calling the Colorado Avalanche over the Boston Bruins. The Avs pulled their goalie late and managed to score to tie the game. Almost immediately into 3 v 3 overtime, a Bruin took a foolish penalty and Colorado went to the man advantage and finished the game. The B’s still managed a point and now have some tape to watch to figure out how to finish that game better.
As for today’s games we have another 10 to sift through. The first one that catches our eye is the Vegas Golden Knights vs the Florida Panthers. We will not be taking many players from it, but we will be tuning in later to what promises to be an exciting match. There are a few other games that appear to be quite lopsided and we will dive into the others later but for now keep an eye on the Anaheim Ducks vs the Montreal Canadiens.
Here’s a quacky lineup For DFS Hockey 1/27/22 (using DraftKings Values)

The Ducks starting goaltender John Gibson made over 40 saves last night in an overtime loss to the Maple Leafs. He will be getting some much deserved rest today while Anthony Stolarz gets his first game back since a short battle with Covid. He has not had a ton of opportunities with Gibson being the workhorse that he is, but he has been a great backup option. Pair that against a Montreal team looking to get a high draft pick and he should see continued success.
Troy Terry is tied for 6th in the league for goals and is costing less than $5,000. We guess it is because DraftKings algorithm still hates on the Ducks. For whatever reason the young All Star is available for pennies and is a must add.
Roman Josi does not play for Anaheim but instead captains the Nashville Predators. They are having a crazy good season and he is one of the main reasons why. Edmonton has somewhat stopped the bleeding but we are not fooled into thinking the ship has been righted. The Preds are going to pounce.

If you are looking for a goalie you can truly rely on, it’s Tristan Jarry. He has 23 wins on the season and long time readers know we have been taking Penguins left and right these days. He is $400 cheaper and should cement your lineup as a winner.
Jeff Carter just signed another two year deal worth $3M per. He is 37 years old! What a Renaissance it has been for him in Pittsburgh. We feel like he is going to reward them tonight for the trust they are putting in him. If you do not like drafting dinosaurs then William Karlsson is your guy. He and Jonathan Marchessault have amazing chemistry and will be relied upon while the big boys recover for the playoffs.
If you are cool with the geriatric crowd then you cannot go wrong with Mark Giordano. The Captain of the Kraken has five straight games of double digit fantasy points and does not disappoint. On the other hand Jacob Trouba and Rangers will be taking cues from last night’s Flames performance against the Blue Jackets. Take shots. Lots of them.
It would be silly not to take at least one.big cat. Sam Reinhart may have been bumped to the third line at even strength but he is getting power play one time which means his fate is in his own hands. For a measly $100 more you can get Pavel Buchnevich who gets to play a potentially depleted Flames team who will also be on their backup goalie.
It’s hard not to root for Trevor Zegras who is bringing all sorts of energy to the new wave of the NHL. Elias Pettersson is supposed to be doing that as well but is having trouble finding his footing. The matchup against the suspect Jets might be what he needs to re-ignite his inferno.
Zach Hyman is finally back after clearing Covid protocols. He will be a big boon to the struggling Oilers. Brayden Schenn is another Blue worth stashing as they continue to roll over everyone in their path.
Well, we may not have afforded the biggest of guns but it is just a treasure trove of value with all the picks today. You can find us on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) for quick reminders and updates. Happy hunting.
