NHL DFS Picks For January 25, 2022

Sidney Crosby DFS
PITTSBURGH, PA - JANUARY 24: Pittsburgh Penguins Center Sidney Crosby (87) looks on during the second period in the NHL game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the New York Rangers on January 24, 2021, at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA. (Photo by Jeanine Leech/Icon Sportswire)

The marquee matchup for the evening is going to be the Vegas Golden Knights vs the Carolina Hurricanes. It may be safer for you to stay away from either goalie as both teams are high volume shot takers. We will also be turning on the Ottawa Senators vs the Buffalo Sabres. Neither team is going to be sniffing the playoffs but they have a lot of young talent they are trying to develop and this even matchup should produce some ESPN worthy highlight reels.

Here’s a flightless bird lineup For DFS Hockey 1/25/22 (using DraftKings Values)

GoalieT. Jarry$8,500

Tristan Jarry and the Pittsburgh Penguins are not necessarily going to have the easiest time today. The Arizona Coyotes as a team have no interest in tanking for management and they will have Phil Kessel playing against his old team. They are bolstered by their own strong goaltender in Karel Vejmelka, but we do feel as though the Penguins will come out on top.

Part of the reason they have the edge is due to Sidney Crosby. He has been absolutely tearing it up as of late with a hat trick and an assist that put him back over a point per game on the season.

Just because we like theming our freebies and also finding valuable stacks for you we are going to package up Bryan Rust. You could go for Jake Guentzel since they are all on the same line but Rust is a nice little discount and is no slouch.

Ilya Sorokin and Semyon Varlamov have found a steady groove going every other game. Sorokin will get the nod today against a Flyers team that has lost 12 in a row. The one thing they have going for them today will make no difference on the stat sheet, but Keith Yandle will be playing in his 901st consecutive game making him the sole owner of longest Ironman streak in NHL history. Sonk!

Andre Svechnikov is so far below market value we have to wonder if someone misprinted an expiration date on him. He is still only 21 years old and is on one of the hottest teams in the league. He is a big reason for that. His FPPG is only a little below Crosby’s. What a steal.

We are constantly trying to find a balance between excitement for the youth and their actual ability to produce. Both Tim Stutzle and Anton Lundell have been producing. Lundell is a darkhorse for Calder this year and Stutzle gets to play a middling Sabres team. The NHL is a better place having these guys playing in it.

Everyone likes to lay it on the Edmonton Oilers and a whole lot of that is deserved. There have been some faint glimmers of hope recently and we expect the game tonight against Vancouver to be a spirited one. Darnell Nurse will be leading the charge from behind. He puts a ton of shots on net and blocks a lot as well. It is rare either of those is a zero and he hits multiple most nights. Big opportunity for bonuses.

Esa Lindell was looking like he might turn into an offensive dynamo a few years ago and then he fell off to become a stay at home defenseman. It would be easy to overlook him but he is a talented fella and gives the Stars a great foundation to work off of. He has been producing more as of late with Miro Heiskanen and John Klingberg not living up to the hype. Dallas relies on him and so do we. For a couple hundred dollars more you could also take Jaccob Slavin who does produce a bit more both in the assists category and also shots. He also has big block games so he is very well rounded.

Is it a Taco Tuesday faux pas to have a burrito? It’s all the same ingredients just put together in a different medium. We are probably going to play it safe and just go street tacos but we are pretty hungry and could use a loaf of Mexican food before a nice siesta. Check out the Twitter (@FantasyDFSX). And have yourself a great day.
