Welcome to one of the quieter days in the NHL schedule this season. The Ottawa Senators play the Vancouver Canucks game today and so we are going as big as we can by offering a totally free lineup. Are you on your free trial yet? You would have scored big yesterday with our top three picks behind the paywall scoring goals. We will be dropping a huge list tomorrow for the monster slate of games so get ready to smash that subscription button. In the meantime here is a once in a blue moon free lineup to get a taste of what we offer.
Here’s a Sniper Lineup For DFS Hockey 1/25/21 (using DraftKings Values)
C B. Horvat $14,400 (DK)
F B. Tkachuk $9,800 (DK)
F Q. Hughes $8,600 (DK)
F D. Batherson $7,000 (DK)
F N. Hoglander $5,600 (DK)
F E. Dadonov $4,600 (DK)
Our first pick for the day and our captain is none other than Bo Horvat. We are a little confused as to why everyone is so surprised about his goal scoring surge starting back in the playoffs last year. He has been vocal about how he built his game from the bottom up and this is just the next thing to work on. He is showing why he earned the captaincy of the Canucks and our squad today.
Brady Tkachuk was probably drafted too low in his draft class. Sure he is the highest drafted Tkachuk but when you look at how complete a player he is you have to wonder why some teams passed on. He is a consummate hockey player hitting everything in this path and taking shots on net. His last goal was highlight reel material and we are all over it. Consider making him your captain as well if you favor Ottawa tonight.
Drake Batherson is a young gun enjoying some top line time with Brady Tkachuk. He has already played about fifty games in the NHL and has been close to a half point a game. He is looking to breakout this year with a big jump in minutes and a dangerous weapon in Tkachuk. He may still be a kid but at 6’3” he is no slouch.
Nils Hoglander is another one of those upstarts getting sweet minutes. Riding alongside Horvat he is also getting second power play time. Before the season started he was maturing in the Swedish League. He was in the middle of doubling his output from the year before with Rogle BK before he was called up to the Canucks. He is hitting the ground running this year and is worth a deep look.
Do not worry we have some players who are already becoming household names. Quinn Hughes has not started the year the way he would have liked but he is seeing a ton of ice time and is top power play. With Brady Tkachuk likely to take some penalties we should see Hughes get some nice opportunities tonight.
Evegenii Dadonov has seen his ice time drop and has been moved down to the third line. These are causes for concern but Dadonov is still a solid NHLer and this may just be a warning from the coach that he needs to pick up his game. He did notch a goal against the Jets and it is a good reminder to not sleep on him. Great value for a great forward.
Since we are giving you our lineup for nothing we are leaving out alternates today. Make sure you have some coffee ready in the morning to help soak in our thoughts on the day.
