We were certainly on the right track going after the Toronto Maple Leafs who routed the Ottawa Senators 6-0. Unfortunately, we did not get all the best players. Jack Campbell still got you a shutout and Drew Doughty picked up a couple assists. We will be focusing todays picks around the Colorado Avalanche, the Vegas Golden Knights and the Calgary Flames.

Here’s a meaty lineup For DFS Hockey 1/2/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterN. MacKinnon$9,000
Center
WingG. Landeskog$6,500

Defense
Defense
GoalieD. Kuemper$8,100
Utility

We have been big fans of Darcy Kuemper for a while now. He kept the Arizona Coyotes alive for a long time and was probably pretty excited to get to go to Colorado where he can actually win more than a couple regular season games. The talent in front of him is immense.

Nathan MacKinnon does not get enough love around here. As we peek at his stats we can start to see why. Only three goals this year? What? He is still getting more than an assist a game and the puck luck will definitely turn around. He is taking his shots and so should you.

MacKinnon’s linemate Gabrial Landeskog is coming in at a very reasonable price today. He still ain’t cheap but overall these are the matchups we are looking for. The Ducks have been slipping a bit and the Avalanche are quietly surging.

Here Is What You Get If You Sign Up For $99 For Six Months

Jacob Markstrom is only $200 cheaper than Kuemper but we can still use it. We would love to start hearing chatter about end of year awards and the Vezina in particular. This guy had better be top five if not top three. His numbers are sterling and his team is crushing it.

Zach Whitecloud and Bowen Byram will not cost you an arm and a leg and they will provide you with a great base of support. Byram has missed some time so there is a little concern there for someone so young but he is back and ready to make an impact. Whitecloud continues to gain responsibility and seems to have firmly moved up to second pairing.

One of the guys feeding Alex Ovechkin his obscene point totals is Evgeny Kuznetsov. We were very surprised he was not moved in the off season and that he has even clawed his way to the top line in Washington. There had been so many rumors of issues in the locker room but those have quieted right down as he puts out a career year.

Actually make that three of the top centers today. You might be a little confused because William Karlsson is listed as a winger but should the top center for Vegas today. We really like when he is paired with Jonathan Marchessaultand we like when they get extra minutes with this mini promotion with Stone and Pacioretty being out.

As usual there is one player from a team we are not focused on and today’s guy is Branden Hagel. He is just fun to watch and see what he can do. He is on a line with Captain Serious and Dylan Strome which is very, very strong. They will at least put up a fight against Calgary. You would also be wise to grab Yegor Sharangovich. That top line in Jersey is humming right now.

That is a hecking strong lineup and we love it. Please follow us on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) and stay safe out there.
