Hey Cowboys fans, did you know you have a sweet hockey team that is worth getting hypes for after that loss this weekend? We have watched a lot of sports and that decision was…curious. Forget about the Cowboys, the Dallas Stars are your new hotness. They have a wonderful matchup against the Montreal Canadiens who just got stomped by the leagues now second worst team, the Arizona Coyotes. You have a young stud in net and excellent veteran leaders who should get the job done tonight.

Here’s a Lone Star lineup For DFS Hockey 1/19/22 (using DraftKings Values)

GoalieJ. Oettinger$8,400

Jake Oettinger is going to get a raise after this season, y’all. The 23 year old is coming up to his bridge deal and is the future of this team. We cannot think of another franchise that has had the goalie carousel that the Stars have had this year but it is clear who they envision to be the starter next year.

Jamie Benn is hungry. Against the top ranked Florida Panthers he managed five shots and seven blocked shots! What a beast. This scoring drought is unlike him, but they have also been playing some stuff competition. It is time for him to feast.

Grizzled veteran Joe Pavelski continues to be a marvel on the ice. He is full of gritty determination and brings seemingly small skills that make a big impact on the game. No one else can tip a puck in front of the net for a goal like he can.

The Washington Capitals are in a little bit of a funk and the Winnipeg Jets are almost completely out of theirs. Connor Hellebyuck is stupid cheap today and worth a swing. Might Alex Ovechkin sneak one past him? Of course. But chasing shutouts is a fool’s errand and Helle should snag himself a big W tonight.

The Florida Panthers are the clear favorite to win everything right now. They are getting support up and down the lineup and while Barkov and Huberdeau deserve all the accolades we would be remiss not to point out Sam Bennett and Anthony Duclair. Bennett has been a revelation and is part of the reason they can afford to keep Hubey on the second line away from Barkov. Duclair made a bold move by taking a gamble on his contract situation and is proving all his doubters wrong. We believe in you, Duke.

While we are huge fans of Pavelski, he is a bit expensive for our tastes. For a few hundo more you can get Nikita Kucherov. He is not to be out done by Timo Meier’s epic performance last night and faces a beleaguered Kings team. He will be piling on the shots and is in need of a huge performance.

One last thought on centers before we dive into defense. The Vancouver Canucks actually have a better shot tonight than you might realize. The Preds are crushing it, but they have their backup David Rittich in and he is not someone we trust a whole lot. Bo Horvat might be your best friend after tonight.

Aaron Ekblad is an easy call tonight and comes in at a great price. You should also consider his partner in crime Mackenzie Weegar who is finally making it onto everyone else’s radar. We have known for a while and are pumped he is finally getting the recognition he deserves.

Both Jaccob Slavin and Ben Chiarot will have one task tonight and that is to block shots. They both face offensively heavy teams and are going to sleep well tonight. They may actually sleep sorely with all the welts and bruises they are about to accrue. Best of luck to both these warriors.

We have not even had a chance to touch on the Sabres and Senators game tonight. This is low key going to be one of the most entertaining this evening. The goalie situation is bad for both teams and so we are expecting a lot of goals. Jeff Skinner has been getting back on his horse and Victor Oloffson and Rasmus Asplund just need a spark to get the fire going.

The middle of the season is always exciting as teams know every point matters. Will we see the Oilers finally make changes to the front office? It feels like some trades need to happen soon for several teams and for individual players that could use a change of scenery. Please follow us on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX). Should we invest in a tortilla press? Adios, amigos.
