NHL DFS Picks For January 15, 2022

Brady Tkachuk
VANCOUVER, BC - JANUARY 25: Vancouver Canucks Goaltender Thatcher Demko (35) makes a save as Defenseman Tyler Myers (57) defends against Ottawa Senators Left Wing Brady Tkachuk (7) during their NHL game at Rogers Arena on January 25, 2021 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. We went big after All Stars yesterday and had some fantastic hits. Jonathan Huberdeau boosted himself over the 50 point mark, Nazem Kadri got his 5 shots on goal and Andre Burakovsky also had a multi point night. Not too shabby.

All of the big guns are playing today and we are going to find a way to help you afford them. Nathan MacKinnonAuston Matthews, and even that Connor McDavid fellow are up for grabs and at least one should be on your roster. Stick around to find out which exciting cheap, young talent we are taking to make that happen for you. After yesterday’s success we are going to be stingy on goalies. Make sure you are subscribed to find out who to put in the most important position in your lineup.

Here’s an eclectic lineup For DFS Hockey 1/15/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterB. Point$7,200
Center
WingB. Tkachuk$6,800
Wing
Wing
DefenseD. Nurse$6,300
Defense
Goalie
Utility

Brayden Point may be hard to pass up when it comes time to upgrade to the cream of the crop. He is an incredible player in his own right and finally has his right hand man Nikita Kucherov back. If you stack them both together you have a one two punch that will level the competition.

The Ottawa Senators do not often make our list mostly because they have not been playing. One goalie note that we will make is that Stuart Skinner is getting called up for the Edmonton Oilers. He is a solid choice but Brady Tkachuk is going to be firing missiles at him all night. Skinner is still young and learning the ropes and Tkachuk will be taking full advantage with all the pent up energy he has.

Someone is going to have to attempt to be a barrier between Brady and Stuart and that guy is going to be Darnell Nurse. He is in a bit of a scoring slump but he will be getting you plenty of shots and blocks. Matt Murray should be worried about the onslaught tonight.

The two goalies that are jumping out at us today are Tristan Jarry and Igor Shesterkin. Sure you could go for Kuemper or Vasilevskiy but both these guys have better numbers on the season. Jarry may carry a little more risk because San Jose has been getting a lot of shots on net but that means a higher ceiling if you are shooting for gold. Shesterkin is playing a Flyers team that has yet to score 100 goals on the season and just have not looked good.

To actually afford the marquee guys we are going to pause on Tkachuk and swap in Todd Bertuzzi. The Sabres goaltending situation is in shambles and Bertuzzi has been ripping around the ice this year. Detroit needs this win to have any chance at the playoffs in a tough division and Bertuzzi will be giving 100% to make that happen. You also have Artemi Panarin here at a fantastic price and can save a couple hundred dollars more for a guy who could get a hat trick without even realizing it.

Chris Kreider has not stopped scoring goals and we do not expect that to slow down any time soon. He and Mika Zibanejad have great chemistry and whoever else is on their line gets a little boost. We are not going after Kappo Kakko until he starts proving himself a little more consistently. He will get there.

We put Lucas Raymond on the back burner for awhile and he has been simmering nicely. He has a big goal drought that he needs to snap out of and against Buffalo is the perfect place to do it. If you are taking Matthews then you could take Michael Bunting as a perfect complement instead.

We occasionally get ahead of ourselves when a young prospect makes their debut and it does not always work out so we are working on some patience. Lukas Reichel has already played one game, got three shots and a block. On top of that he is slated to play on the Blackhawks top line with Patrick Kane which is a pretty plum assignment. They also have Brandon Hagel on their line who posted an assist and the highest ice time he has seen this season. They should be flying tonight.
