NHL DFS Picks For January 13, 2022

Tuuka Rask DFS
PHILADELPHIA, PA - FEBRUARY 03: Boston Bruins Goalie Tuukka Rask (40) makes a save of the puck during the second period of the National Hockey League game between the Boston Bruins and the Philadelphia Flyers on February 3, 2021, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA. Tuukka Rask is back. He will be starting tonight against Carter Hart and the Philadelphia Flyers. We are not recommending either tonight, just making a note that the Bruins just got better and at a time where they are putting everything together. It has been a long time since he played so give him a game or two to warm up. We will be diving into other goalie situations today with a solid free pick and then a couple other choices behind the paywall for you to chew on based on your own risk assessment. There are only a couple games that are heavily favored to one team tonight with a lot of other very evenly matched tilts on the board. Let’s get cracking!

Here’s a balanced lineup For DFS Hockey 1/13/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Center
Center
WingM. Duchene$6,200
Wing
Wing
DefenseR. Josi$8,000
Defense
GoalieJ. Saros$8,700
Utility

Juuse Saros is the most expensive goalie today for good reason. He is having a career year and the Nashville Predators are finally relevant again. They face a beleaguered Sabres team that has been tumbling in the standings and they are not likely to falter. Hang another banner.

Roman Josi has been a surprise to us this year. He has been elite for a long time but was mired in the middle of the pack with the Preds. He had three points in his last game and is poised for another good match.

Matt Duchene is another guy who we are used to throwing under the bus. Much to our surprise he is a point per game player. We are happy for him that he is living up to his contract and revitalizing his career.

Here Is What You Get If You Sign Up For $15 per month OR $99 For Six Months

We will be skimping a little on centers today. The value is still there though because Evgenii Malkin’s price has not caught up to all the missed time. We took him for his first game back and he scored two goals. Geno is back.

We are also digging a Jack Hughes pick tonight for a few dollars more. Much like yesterday we are fading the Islanders who have not played much as of late. They still have not hit the 30 game mark. Save a few dollars and go after Logan Couture who had a tougher matchup but is also on a hot streak.

Connor Hellebuyck has a juicy matchup against the Red Wings. They have finally settled in at their ceiling of winning as many as they lose. That’s not meant to be mean it is a huge step up from last year and they should be proud of the progress. Go full risk and actually take Carter Hart. The Bruins are rolling but they are on a back to back and Rask may have trouble keeping pucks out of the back of the net. Hart has a chance for a nice win here.

If you are looking to save $1,000 and still keep elite value, put in Kris Letang for Josi. He setup Malkin for a power play goal and is happy to have his teammate of 16 years back. They and Crosby deserve to be inducted at the same time.

We were going to go with an option here but feel too strongly about taking Jacob Trouba straight up. Great value for a beast of a player. He does it all and will still raise your average price per player.

Fill up the tank with two guys who are coming out of Covid protocols and are itching to make an impact. Brock Boeser and Yegor Sharangovich come in around $3,000 each and offer far more than that in on ice production.

Thirsty Thursday is here and we will be kicking back with a cold one after doing a sprint workout for the first time in like two years. Glutes? Yeah we can feel ’em. We do the Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) if you do. Stay safe out there and do what you can to dodge the ‘rona. Take care.
