The biggest thing going for the Florida Panthers tonight is that the Vancouver Canucks have not played in over a week. Postponements have derailed the Canucks recent success and they could be rusty having only had the chance to practice with each other. That may give them a boost in the chemistry department but the big cats have been annihilating everything in their path so they are our focus for the day.
Here’s a purrfect lineup For DFS Hockey 1/11/21 (using DraftKings Values)
For all the talk in the media about the albatross that is Sergei Bobrovskiy’s contract he is worth every penny this year. He is backstopping the Panthers run towards the cup and gives them all the confidence they need. He may not be in the running for the Vezina but given that he already has two, we are sure he is not concerned about that award. There is more important hardware to win.
Alexander Barkov is only 26 and we forget that all the time. He is in his prime and leading the Panthers out front. He has been over a point per game player for five years now and is only accelerating. It is almost hard to believe he was the second overall pick but that will happen when Nathan MacKinnon is the first.
Speaking of first overalls, Aaron Ekblad was taken a year later and one spot higher. This pair is going to have a long career together and we are all about it. Ekblad is 6’4” and dominates all aspects of the ice. He may have had to deal with some freak injuries but they have not slowed him in the slightest.

Evgeni Malkin is finally suiting up for the Penguins. It remains to be seen how well he can produce after all the time off and all the rehab he has gone through but the man is a lock for the Hall of Fame. It is now time to be careful when taking Evan Rodrigues. He is up on the top line now with Sidney Crosby while Bryan Rust is out, but when Rust is back he will not be worth his current price.
Tampa Bay should have a field day with UPL in net for the Sabres. Pekka-Luhkonen is just barely an NHL goalie and has struggled to make it in the show. Load up on wingers like Nikita Kucherov or Steven Stamkos. Kuch has quietly come back much like Malkin and will be getting up to speed in no time. Stamkos held down the fort while he was gone and will continue to produce as he always does. If you take both of them you will need someone like Eetu Luostarinen to make the numbers work.
If you can only afford one, then the likes of Ondrej Palat, Conor Garland or Carter Verhaegeshould give you the flexibility you are looking for. All three are workhorses who help their teams shine while staying out of the spotlight.
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Zach Whitecloud is earning very high marks from his team and the advanced analytics community. We do not pretend to understand all the fancy numbers but in a very prominent one he is first on a team that should make a deep playoff run. For us knuckle draggers, he hit, he block, he shoot. He good.
Another first round pick makes his debut tonight. For $2,500 you can get yourself a shiny new Jack Quinn. He was certainly not the best pick available in his draft but he is a very good hockey player and deserves to show why he was taken in the top ten by the Sabers.
We are quickly approaching the halfway mark of the season. Or have we already passed it? We shall see if Bettman and the league will pull of a full 82 game season, but we trust. Make sure to follow us on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) and do not forget what the food of the day is! Hasta la vista, baby.
