NHL DFS Picks For February 7, 2022

Did you miss us? Well, we missed you and we missed live hockey. The All Star game is fun and we appreciate athletes getting recognized, but we do not have any skin in that game. There are only two games to choose from today so let us see if we can find a couple lines that get us back into the swing of things.

Here’s a spicy lineup For DFS Hockey 2/7/22 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterS. Aho$7,200
Center
WingB. Tkachuk$6,300

Defense
Defense
GoalieF. Andersen$8,100
Utility

Freddie Andersen is not going to have an easy night. The Toronto Maple Leafs have a couple of guys who are pretty good at shooting goals. The Carolina Hurricanes, though, are the only team left to have allowed fewer than 100 goals across the season. Their defense and goaltending has been outstanding.

Out in front of the pack is Sebastian Aho. The team has played five fewer games than the Rangers and still have more goals. Aho has been a huge piece of that having been a part of 46 points. That is 40% of the entire team’s points that he has been involved with. Save $2,300 on Matthews and enjoy the ride.

Brady Tkachuk and the Ottawa Senators can occasionally surprise people with a high level of play. They are up against a pretty weak Devils team. We also really like Brady’s centerman who has recently earned top line minutes. More on him later.

Matt Murray has been having a tough couple years in Ottawa. Taken for his Stanley Cup winning pedigree, he has not been the same since he left Pittsburgh. Until at least a week ago when he started to look like his old self and held other teams to fewer than two goals. It at least feels to us like Ottawa is more hungry than New Jersey.

Tim Stutzle has come blazing onto the scene in a big way. Two games ago he got in his first fight and scored the overtime winning goal. Welcome to the show, kid. He has moved up to center Ottawa’s top line and he will fill that role with confidence. He is a player that is going to put butts in seats and do it with a huge smile on his face.

We will be a little light on defensemen today as the crop is not the strongest. We will be making our main guy Morgan Rielly. If the Maple Leafs are going to solve the Hurricanes it will be on the power play and Rielly has been getting quite a few of those points. He enjoys all the time the Leafs give him and he has access to one of the best goal scorers in the world.

Save even more and choose between Artem Zub and Brady Skjei. Zub has been seeing his stock rise on the Sens and we hope he starts seeing some time on the man advantage. Skjei gets way more points than we first realized. He got a piece of the Dougie pie when Hamilton left and he has been a great addition for the Canes.

We have one guy we are trying to afford and we think either Michael Bunting or Ilya Mikheyev. It might seem obvious to go after Bunting the way he is blowing up recently, but Mikheyev is on a sneaky good line and has a points per game ratio that we were not expecting. They are both making this team more and more scary but the day.

There is a whole range of amazing players to choose from at this point. We were initially shooting for William Nylander, but we may have outdone ourselves. We have enough to get Andrei Svechnikov who is the perfect complement to our initial Aho choice. Or take Nylander and use that $1,000 to upgrade another of our picks.

There is a stupid amount of line reading, stat checking and standings reading that goes into this. A few days off and I’m already in an info coma. Please check on me tomorrow and please bring tacos. Find on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) where we post updates and all the other awesome sports articles. There is a big Super Bowl coming up, are you ready?
