There is a concerning trend right now that some of the best players’ prices are starting to climb over the ceiling. As much as we want to play the McDavids and the Matthews their price is becoming problematic. We are always looking for value for you and sometimes that means not going after a home run swing every time we are at the plate. We are trying to stay in the park today and will be picking a little more conservatively.

Here’s a simple lineup For DFS Hockey 2/27/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterM. Scheifele $7,500
CenterB. Point $6,700
Wing  $7,900
Wing  $3,500
Wing  $2,900
Defense  $6,200
Defense  $4,300
GoalieVasilevski $8,400
UtilityJ. Spezza $2,600

Mark Scheifele is on at least a ten game point streak and has put up video game numbers over the course of this season. Twenty eight points in nineteen games this guy does not get nearly the attention he deserves. Or maybe do not tell anyone and keep the secret safe. He is a good play today against Montreal.

Brayden Point is having a mild season with only a point per game. The lead man in Tampa could certainly use more goals but he has been productive. We are liking his new linemate Blake Coleman who brings more tools to the table than a Swiss Army knife and are looking for them to gel.

Andre Vasilevski finally makes it back on our list with an interesting matchup against the Dallas Stars. They will get a lot of shots so this is a riskier than usual goalie pick but we believe in Andre’s ability to stop the puck.

Jason Spezza has been everything the Leafs could have asked for. The former superstar now lives on Toronto’s fourth line and has been spectacular in the role. He can still score and do all the right things for you so do not sniff at his price, he is worth it.

Mitch Marner – W ($7,900 DK) is playing without Auston Matthews today and we are just interested to see what he does with John Tavares and Joe Thornton as linemates. The kid is flying high and should be good for a couple assists.

Rudolfs Balcers – W ($2,900 DK). We mentioned this guy about a week back and he is quietly producing. The 23 year old has been bounced around a couple times and has landed on San Jose’s second line. The team is a whole is not great but he is a bright spot and we would like to see if he can keep that spot.

Brock McGinn – W ($3,600 DK) may have been moved off Carolina’s top line but he still has some great linemates in Jordan Staal and Warren Foegele. It is a sneaky depth line that may surprise Florida tonight.

Jeff Petry – D ($6,200 DK). One of our favorite and most consistent picks, Jeff Petry can do it all. He excels in all areas of the ice and can manage to be both a defensive defenseman as well as offensive. He is a rare talent and if the Canadiens manage to turn things around he will be a big reason for that.

Jonas Brodin – D ($3,100 DK) is a little over a half point per game and backs that up with shots and blocks. He is our peripheral guy for you today that should raise the floor for your team and get you over the hump to payday.

Let us know how these guys work out for you. We love responding to our Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) followers and are kicking back some cold ones and enjoying the full day of hockey. Have a great day.
