Happy Presidents Day! We wish we could bring you some juicy advice on the Colorado Avalanche vs Boston Bruins game but they are a little earlier than we will be publishing for. We will be focusing on the two later games with the Montreal Canadiens hosting the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Pacific Northwest’s budding rivalry of the Seattle Kraken and Vancouver Canucks.

Here’s a chilly lineup For DFS Hockey 2/21/22 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterJ. Tavares$7,300
Center
WingW. Nylander$6,700

GoalieP. Mrazek$8,500
Utility

The Canadiens have won two games in a row for the first time this season. They unfortunately face the juggernaut Maple Leafs. Petr Mrazek is most certainly overvalued here given the weapons in front of him, but he does hold the best chance of getting a win tonight. We will have a secondary option for subscribers.

By all means upgrade John Tavares to Auston Matthews. Just remember that he is a point per game player currently so he is very likely to get on the scoreboard for you. The Leafs captain has been grinding on the second line and has been bringing veteran leadership to a team that has struggled with its youth at times.

Since we are feeling Tavares we may as well stack William Nylander with him. The biggest thing to note for him is his 19 goals. Every ten goals in this league is a big accolade and hitting the big two-zero is something that is very meaningful to him. He will be firing on all cylinders tonight.

Thatcher Demko had a rough Saturday giving up five goals. Jaroslav Halak did not fare all that much better in relief and we do not think he will get the start tonight. Demko is still a fantastic goalie and has an easier matchup against the Kraken. Definitely double check to see who gets the green P next to their name. If it is Halak you may want to stick with Mrazek.

We will probably be taking Elias Pettersson straight up today. He had a miserable start to the season but he has been turning it around recently and the needle on his price has barely registered that. He is getting more valuable by the day. If you want to spend a little more and have a bit more consistency you can take Bo Horvat, but Elias needs some love.

Apparently we are liking the Canucks today. Quinn Hughes looks like the right price, especially when he has a goal and an assist in each of his last two games. It looks like he and Petey are working some magic together. Hughes will need to step up with Ekman-Larsson dealing with a minor injury. They have been a great pair together and we would love to see Hughes pick up some of OEL’s edge.

Don’t look now but Jeff Petry might be refinding his game again. It is really just that last two game sample that has us intrigued but now is the time to play this hot hand. He is dirt cheap and the boys have been energized by the new coach. Ben Chiarot is also finally back and may be trying to play his way onto a better team before the trade deadline.

We will try and offer up at least one guy from Seattle and it is going to have to be Jared McCann or Jordan Eberle. As mentioned earlier last week, these two are the lions share of the points for the team and they can be had for cheap. McCann could easily be your utility guy which would allow you an upgrade on someone else or taking another baller winger. If you are still leaning towards the other team then Conor Garland in this price range gets you the higher FPPG.

If you happen to be reading this and are looking at the Winnipeg Jets game, which this article is not focusing on, there is a sneaky pick in Adam Brooks. He has bounced around the waiver wire several times this season and does not deserve to get treated that way. He is a goal scorer and has been bumped all the way up to the second line for the Jets. We are rooting for him.

No cases of the Mondays are allowed here. It is a beautiful day and there is a lot to accomplish this week. All of our content is released immediately on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) for easy access. Have yourself a great week, amigos.
