*Just a heads up but we are going to be discontinuing our FREE month program soon.

Our big matchup to watch today is going to be the Calgary Flames vs Vancouver Canucks game. The Canucks demise may be greatly exaggerated but they are still on life support. The Flames picked up the Canucks number one goalie in the offseason and he has been phenomenal. Tune into this one as it will be anything but boring.

Here’s a fiery lineup For DFS Hockey 2/17/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Center  $8,600
CenterE. Lindholm $6,000
WingM. Tkachuk                                $6,400
Wing  $3,800
Wing  $3,300
Defense  $5,800
Defense  $5,300
GoalieJ. Markstrom $8,100
Utility  $2,500

It is crazy to think that Elias Lindholm has already been in the NHL for eight seasons. He only just turned 26 in December and is on a tear right now. The former first round pick has finally gotten to a point per game pace and is the top dog in Calgary.

Matthew Tkachuk will tell you that his younger brother Brady is the better player but Matthew is playing on a better team and has a little more experience under his belt. He is an electric player to watch and he will be part of every situation no matter how physical. He gives 100% every shift.

We already touched on Jacob Markstrom who the Canucks should probably have tried to hold onto. He was a late bloomer even by goalie standards but this guy knows how to stand on his head if his team needs him. There is a slight risk here since his old teammates may know some of his weaknesses but that is also extra fuel for his fire.

Now what do you get if you sign up now?
* A recently back from Covid guy who is going to ramp back up fast.
• A future HOF player who is still doing it but now “on the cheap”
• Much more.

Connor McDavid – C ($8,600 DK) was not who we were shooting for as we put our team together this fine morning. It just turned out that we kept finding good deals and we had enough left over to get McJesus. You are welcome.

Joe Thornton – W ($3,800 DK) is quickly getting back to a reasonable price. We took him yesterday for pennies and got more than our money’s worth. Even with the increased cost we have to take him just for his linemates.

Evgenii Dadonov – W ($3,300 DK) really seemed to take the criticism of his play and emergence of Hornqvist in Florida to heart. He has been playing like a man possessed and scored two goals in the Senators amazing comeback win over the Maple Leafs.

Tyson Barrie – D ($5,800 DK) is a prolific shot taker and the only other defenseman who has more is the next guy on our list. He has been everything advertised in helping the Oilers power play and is worth taking for his time spent with McDavid and crew.

Quinn Hughes – D ($5,300 DK). Another day and another assist for Hughes. He may have one of the highest floors from blueliners this season and even though he has not really sniffed the ceiling it is only a matter of time. Keep rolling him.

Linus Wallmark – U  ($2,500 DK). Our deep sleeper for the day had a quiet game back after taking some time off for a Covid vacation. There is a juicy matchup against the Red Wings and he has been a solid presence in Chicago.

Alternative Moves…

Elias Pettersson – C ($5,700 DK) is the most likely candidate to solve the puzzle that is Jacob Markstrom. Just because he has not been elite this year does not mean he has not been productive. Do not worry about the armchair GMs out there disparaging him he is still a good play.

Brady Tkachuk – W ($6,100 DK). Who are we kidding? We love Brady and his mouthguard chewing idiosyncrasies. The Maple Leafs may be a little suspect after that epic collapse and Tkachuk is going to lead a charge to start the game to set the tone. We may see some fireworks tonight.

Neal Pionk – D ($4,600 DK) may have lost top power play in Winnipeg but he still has a lot more points than his replacement Josh Morrissey. He is enjoying the reduced workload this year and is putting together a solid campaign.

Have a great weekend and let us know if there is anything you need on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX). Cheers!
