There is some juicy action in the early games today and we wish we could jump on board but are focusing on the main slate of games in the evening. The top two games to keep your eye on will be the Montreal Canadiens vs the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Florida Panthers.
We hyped the battle of the sunshine state while at the same time not picking Andre Vasilevskiy for the first time this season. That caution paid off as the Panthers laid waste to the Lightning. Is there a changing of the guard in Florida? Probably not but who let us serve up some baseless speculation for you.
Here’s a spicy lineup For DFS Hockey 2/13/21 (using DraftKings Values)
Center | Matthews | $8,500
Center | D. Larkin | $6,100
Wing | $6,700 | ||
Wing | $3,500 | ||
Wing | $3,100 | ||
Defense | $7,000 | ||
Defense | $4,000 | ||
Goalie | T. Rask | $8,000 | |
Utility | E. Luostarinen | $3,000 |
With Connor McDavid and David Pastrnak having recently reached the lofty $9,000 price tag we are pleased that Auston Matthews comes in at a paltry $8,500. Never look at this guy’s floor as you will hurt your neck when the ceiling skyrockets.
Speaking of superstar steals, go grab a shiny Tuukka Rask for only $8,000. The Boston netminder has been phenomenal this season other than his little vacation with a couple minutes left in the game. We expect he will be more aware of the score in the future and trust his ability to stop pucks.
Dylan Larkin is the top dog in Detroit. The team as a whole is spinning their wheels but they are up against a lackluster Panthers team who is putting a 38 year old declining Pekka Rinne in net.
Eetu Luostarinen has a bright future ahead of him and it is not just because of the state he plays in. The young center has been providing Florida the much needed depth and has been flying all over the ice. His efforts leading to Frank Vatrano’s goal were commendable and it is about time he made it on our list.
Now what do you get if you sign up now?A pair of defenseman looking to shoot and block everything.A sleeper that is on a four game goal streak.A Chicago youngster on the rise. |
—— Paywall ——
Mitch Marner – W ($6,700 DK). Surprise! We love stacking Marner and Matthews even against the almighty Carey Price. The Canadiens success this season is a little suspect and we are likely to see the cracks grow tonight as Toronto continues to put things together.
Philip Kurashev – W ($3,500 DK). Maybe this time if we say he is a third liner he will get swapped back up to the top line. Last time we picked this guy when it looked like he was at the top and then he was moved down. He still managed to get us an assist and if you have seen the energy his linemate Brandon Hagel brings to the shift you will know why they are so dangerous together.
Brock McGinn – W ($3,100 DK) is the guy who has scored four goals in four games. That may not continue as he might not be top line anymore but his linemates Nino and Vincent have both been enjoying a resurgence in their careers. His time on ice has not dropped yet and so we will ride this hot hand.
Roman Josi – D ($7,000 DK). We are positively drooling over this matchup tonight. The Red Wings let in goals like it is their job. Someone should tell them that is the exact opposite but Josi will not be the one doing so. He will be unleashing hell tonight.
Adam Pelech – D ($4,000 DK) has the thankless job of stepping in front of the Boston Bruins artillery division tonight. He is unlikely to come out without bruises. This warrier will probably deserve a medal afterwards.
Alternative Moves…
• John Tavares – C ($6,300 DK). If you are not comfortable with Dylan Larkin then swap him out for Tavares. It makes your portfolio pretty Toronto heavy but it is a great deal for a guy who does everything well on the ice and scores points in just about every match.
• Matthew Tkachuk – W ($6,600 DK) has a very favorable matchup against Vancouver tonight. The Canucks just look flat out there and their goaltending is a sketchy situation. He is in a bit of goal scoring drought which we feel is about to end.
• Quinn Hughes – D ($5,400 DK). Our dear faithful friend Quinn Hughes struggles to make our main roster day in and day out but his floor is also an assist a game. When the Canucks snap out of their slump we expect Hughes will see a massive resurgence like he had last year.
Have an amazing Saturday and keep those picks going. We would love to hear about your personal wins over on Twitter(@FantasyDFSX). Peace.
