The Boston Bruins and their fanbase had a bad day yesterday. Tuukka Rask, the B’s all time leader in goalie wins, officially retired after a long battle trying to recover from hip surgery nearly a year ago. One of their top players, Brad Marchand, was also handed a six game suspension for being a rat. On top of that, Patrice Bergeron has been ruled out of tonight’s game versus the Carolina Hurricanes. You can probably see where this is going, but we did have a couple other players we wanted to highlight for free today. The Storm Surge will be behind the paywall.

Ville Husso should be getting the start today. It could still be Jordan Binnington but rumor has it that the reigns are being handed off to the new guy. Husso has been amazing while Binnington has been mediocre. Mediocre isn’t going to cut it in the NHL and this club demands excellence.
Vladimir Tarasenko has had an incredibly productive year. Cruising along at a point per game, he is a fundamental piece of the Blues team. It may look like they are the middle of the standings but they have a firm hold on a playoff spot and that is where they are built to succeed.
Torey Krug is having a modest season. The best part about taking him today is the matchup against the New Jersey Devils who seem to be in freefall right now. Krug will quarterback the power play.

Devon Toews is only a couple hundred dollars cheaper than Torey Krug but he represents a bit higher consistency for us. He is also on the ice almost half the game. The Avalanche trust him implicitly and so do we.
Elvis Merzlikins stated goal coming into the season was to win the best goalie of the year award. He is nowhere close to that, but it does not mean he has not had a productive season by fantasy metrics. Even in one of his last losses he would have netted you 20 points. The Sabres are sharper than most give them credit for, but the Blue Jackets have a little run going.
Sebastian Aho is seriously underpriced today. Who is going to have a chance at stopping him when the likes of Bergeron are not out there? The Bruins are going to have a difficult night ahead of them. The same goes for who is a reasonable swap for Tarasenko. Or maybe you can afford both. Svech is a little under the point per game mark but barely and he has more goals. Win – win.
Continue to boost your average salary by grabbing Ryan Graves on the cheap. He will soak up a couple shots and take a couple as well and has recently gotten a few points. If he can get up to a half point per game as a defenseman, the Devils will be very happy with the low cost behemoth.
There is at least one member of the Black and Gold worth stashing. Erik Haula and his line all just got a promotion with Bergy and Marchy out. For $3,000 it will all be gravy.
Patrik Laine is back and in a big way. The huge Finn is finally back into goal scorer mode and will be facing a weak Buffalo net with Dustin Tokarski. At the very least he will be taking his shots. Do not expect to see his price this low again this season.
You should have a decent chunk of change for your utility player. Regardless of the matchup we are just going after Brady Tkachuk. He is just so fun to watch. You could also take his boy Tim Stutzleand use the rest for some minor upgrades.
