The Chicago Blackhawks pulled a fast one on us and put Philipp Kurashev on the third line but he still managed to get us an assist. Our bold prediction of Vegas’ third line coming up big also hit with Alex Tuch and Cody Glass combining for a goal and an assist. We have a couple more gems for you today. Keep reading to see who we are elevating.
With only two games today we are loading up on star players and trying to milk value out of some up and comers. We may be leaning towards Boston and Toronto as the primary places to look for talent but New York and Montreal have some great pieces as well.
Here’s a Shiny Lineup For DFS Hockey 2/10/21 (using DraftKings Values)
C A. Matthews $8,300 (DK)
C __________ $3,600 (DK)
W D. Pastrnak $8,500 (DK)
W __________ $7,400 (DK)
W __________ $4,900 (DK)
D __________ $3,500 (DK)
D __________ $2,700 (DK)
G T. Rask $8,200 (DK)
U __________ $2,900 (DK)
The big trick today will be maximizing our bargain bin to pay for the big guns. We are packing in a ton of value today and hope you are subscribed to see how we managed to get you this embarrassment of riches.
Auston Matthews sits atop our list for obvious reasons. He could conceivably get a 40 goal season with games being heavily reduced. That is insanity. All he does is score and that is greatly helped by having Mitch Marner on his line. Play him with confidence.
David Pastrnak does not seem to have missed a beat after missing the first month of the season due to rehab. He does not seem to care that the Matthews of the world have a head start on his attempt to win the Rocket Richard trophy for the second year in a row. He is a must add.
Tuukka Rask is the probable starter tonight and is the best bet for goalies. Toronto and Montreal have both been scoring a ton while New York has been lacking in that department. There is not much of a choice here and we will let you know our alternate list does not include a goalie today. It does have the deep value we are always trying to get you so make sure to read until the end.
Now what do you get if you sign up for your free month now?
• Two puck absorbing defensemen.
• A third line center applying for better line duties.
• Access to a wealth of other fantasy sports including Golf and League of Legends
Brad Marchand – W ($7,400 DK) is a terror on the ice. His ability to get under the skin of opponents is rivaled by few and he backs it up with lethal skill. Even before Pasta came back he was continuing on his rampage. With that line together again they may be unstoppable.
Jesperi Kotkaniemi – C ($3,600 DK) is elevating his game and may be challenging Philip Danault for a higher spot in the lineup. Danault has been lackluster to start the season and Kotkaniemi is about to break his own point record in twenty fewer games. If he gets promoted that extra time will mean extra fantasy points for you.
William Nylander – W ($4,900 DK) is John Tavares’ trusty sidekick these days and the young Swede is a steal. He is barely under a point per game and even though he is on Toronto’s second power play he sees decent time on the man advantage.
Jacob Trouba – D ($3,500 DK) is paid a lot of real life dollars to stop shots. He is a puck eater and an occasional puck shooter. We think he should be scoring more to match his salary cap but his cost on DraftKings has us drooling. He and our next pick have their work cut out for them but we are looking for multiple shot block bonuses today.
K’Andre Miller – D ($2,700 DK) is about to meet the Boston Bruins and the best he can probably hope for is to come away with all his teeth. The Bruins will be putting a ton of shots on Alexander Georgiev and it will be up to Trouba and Miller to absorb some of the barrage. Good luck kid.
Ilya Mikheyev – U ($2,900 DK) is our bargain bin winner for the day. We are not worried that he has a low floor and may in fact do nothing for us because he is affording us the opportunity to go after Brad Marchand. It will balance out.
Alternative Moves…
• Mitch Marner – W ($7,000 DK). Matthews set up man is having a heck of a season. He is piling on assists and looks to have gotten a little bit of a mean streak in him a la Brad Marchand. He has a lot more game to find and we cannot wait to see what comes of it.
• Jeff Petry – D ($6,200 DK) might be mistaken for a forward with all the points he is scoring this year. He is an offensive dynamo on a team that is clicking right now. The Montreal Canadiens are lucky to have him and he is worth a good look.
That is it for today given that our strategy is to go for the goal scorers. When you get some monster point totals and payouts go brag about it on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX). Take care.
