Mika Zibanejad

A little over a quarter of the way through the season we have a few teams who are rising above the rest but the middle is a logjam. Teams that underperformed last year like the Anaheim Ducks are going above and beyond. The Calgary Flames are finally putting all the pieces they have had for years together. Teams like the Vegas Golden Knights and Boston Bruins are having to start being concerned with potentially making the playoffs. This is all great for the league as parity continues to get better and rosters just keep getting more competitive with the talent pouring in from around the world. What a time to be a fan.

Here’s a raggedy lineup For DFS Hockey 12/7/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterM. Zibanejad$7,000

DefenseD. Nurse$6,100
Defense
GoalieA. Georgiev$8,100
Utility

We are going back to yesterday’s plan and starting you off with a base goalie model. Alexander Georgiev’s goals against this year are not where you want them. Looking a little closer though we see a couple really bad games that are probably outliers. He is also getting goal support and the ever important wins he will still bring to you.

You thought we would go for Adam Fox, didn’t you? We did toss him on there but then noticed Darnell Nurse who is a grand cheaper and scored a goal in his first game back since injury. We cannot just pass up on that value and you should not either.

Seven percent. Mika Zibanejad’s shooting percentage is only seven percent. That is straight up half of what he normally gets. He is taking over two shots per game and is just having the unluckiest stretch of his life. When this dam breaks, get out of the way. Or stand in front of it and reap all the fantasy rewards!

Here Is What You Get If You Sign Up For $99 For Six Months
• A higher shooting percentage player than Zibanejad for a quick boost
• This backup goalie does not have the hardest path to a rare victory
• So many good wingers. Like, there are a lot, we talk about them all

Auston Matthews is a threat to score at least one goal every game. It really is a shame he missed a few games to start the season if only to eat into what will be an epic goal total. We do love Zibby but Matthews is making it happen.

We do not want to go too cheap here and when we found this pair we knew the price point was right. Anthony Cirelli and Tomas Hertl could be first line centers on a couple teams in the league. They are still firmly second for their current squads but they have been making the most of their time. If you can find the extra cash you may want to take Logan Couture over Hertl. The linemate situation there is decidedly better with Timo Meier hanging around.

We will come back and sort out this winger business in a minute but we do not want to forget about this gem of a goalie today. Anthony Stolarz is the backup for John Gibson and will start today versus the Buffalo Sabres. The Sabres can score so this will not be a perfect game, but for a couple hundred bucks off we still raise our confidence.

It really is a toss up for us on whether to take Jamie Drysdale or Hampus Lindholm. We are favoring the Ducks a bit tonight because of Buffalos’ goaltender situation. We lean Jamie but if you need $200 to afford another player you like, then drop down to Lindholm.

There are no two ways about it, Andrew Copp’s falling price should be something you get notified on your phone about. Take him as soon as possible. Christmas is coming early! Brandon Hagel is also worth noting because he may be sliding his way up to the top line in Chicago. That would be a big jump in ice time since he was on the second line.

There is so much good stuff even at the bottom of the barrel. Maybe we are only halfway down. To round out your utility spot go take a peek at Anton Lundell and Sonny Milano. Milano probably has the higher ceiling due to playing with Trevor Zegras but Lundell has one of the best five on five goal scorers in the league down on the third line. Florida is so stacked.

The bountiful articles continue and we are happy to keep churning them out. Best of luck in your games today. Peep the Tweets (@FantasyDFSX) and may your tacos runneth over.
