It is official: the NHL will be pausing play starting tomorrow for at least a week. There are still two games today so we will make sure to get you picks for that and then we will be taking a nice little vacation. Today’s games are the Washington Capitals vs the Philadelphia Flyers and the Tampa Bay Lightning vs the Vegas Golden Knights. Both matchups should be great games to watch. We are leaning towards Washington and Vegas the victors, but nothing is for sure these days.

Ilya Samsonov and the Capitals always love dummying the Flyers. They will be going for the jugular today with the big pause imminent. Philly should put up a good fight as they have done well after a coaching change but we are still focused on Washington coming out on top.
Steven Stamkos is unreal. How has his body endured so much and yet he still performs at an elite level? He is absolutely crushing it this year and will certainly be seeing his name go into the Hall of Fame someday.
Alex Pietrangelo is one of our golden boys. He is cemented in as the best defenseman on Vegas. We actually have a couple more for you today and maybe not the ones you would expect. This group has no fear and they are going to need that skill against Tampa tonight.

Max Pacioretty benefits from however DraftKings actually runs their algorithm. He has more FPPG than Alex Ovechkin but still costs almost $1,000 less. That makes sense. He is missing Mark Stonetoday so that could be part of it but even though our next guy is a little downgrade they can still put it together.
Evgeni Dadonov has moved up to replace Stone and is a worthwhile investment. He saw his ice time increase by a couple minutes and he responded with three shots on goal. With some more time to have gained chemistry with his linemates we think he is a great add.
Speaking of super cheap adds with all the upside. Ross Colton is listed as a winger but we are seeing him center Tampa Bay’s second line. That is quite a promotion and one that you should not pass on considering he costs nearly the minimum. Anytime you can get decent value out of someone who costs less than $3,000 you should get after it.
Since Colton will take up a winger spot we suppose that we should get you a real second center. Long time readers will not be surprised at all that we are taking Chandler Stephenson. We are taking the entire top line of one of the top teams in the league. Shocker.
Tossing a couple more VGK defensemen on the board could really help you get through a weird day of picks. Nic Hague and Zach Whitecloud are buried in the depth chart but have been performing very well. This blue line is so deep and is a huge reason why this team is so successful.
